don't go here, you can find somewhere better!!

Me and my colleague went to this restaurant on the 31st October while we were in Inverness on business. We thought it looked like a reputable place, and they had an offer on the board outside that was 2 courses for £8.99 or something like that if you ordered before 6. so we entered the restaurant and placed the order at 5 to 6 to make sure we were in the deal, firstly the man at the bar was not impressed by that, and told us he had no tables, despite the fact I looked around and saw 3-4 clearly empty tables, and informed him that we would take a 2 seater table that was in the corner empty.
our starters arrived, and they still had not taken our drinks order, so we ordered 2 x 500ml bottles of RED KITE ale which was 5.0% and cost about £5.80. they brought out 2 bottles of red kite, however these were 330ml!!, and the label clearly stated 4.2% (for beers I have never tried before I tend to select them on their %). I called the waitress back to our table (in a kind friendly manor), and told her that firstly the bottles were not the 500ml that were advertised, and the alcohol % was grossly inaccurate as well. again the staff did not take that well, forcefully telling me that "well that's just what the brewery provide us with", despite the fact that 2 descriptions of the beverage were wildly inaccurate and due to their disgusting approach to the way they handled this, I was honestly p*ssed off at their confrontational response. I don't know if they realize that they can actually be done under the trades description act in cases like this!!
Then came the time to pay, so my colleague, went up to pay, at the bar, only to have the receipt SLAPPED down onto the counter with aggression and for him to be confronted with a "THERE THATS YOUR BILL!!" in a very aggressive tone.
me and my colleague were paying customers, who wanted what we had paid for in a nice looking establishment and service with a smile!, we both left gobsmacked, and disgusted that somebody would speak to my colleague in such a way!!!,

To the management team of ASH restaurant, you should be ashamed that your staff conduct themselves in such a manor, and sort the problems that are presented to them out in a more professional manor!

HONESTLY NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!

Not used to leaving harsh comments though i feel that this is necessary. Unfortunately service was poor. We were never asked for drinks until we reminded the waiter, which then meant we could order our food. Very expensive menu, so we went with a burger each. My husband was charged £1 to change cheddar to goats cheese, even though the goats cheese came with the veggie burger.
Burger tough and overcooked. Salad old and not dressed. Chips frost bitten and oily. I saw lovely looking desserts though we were left after our main to sit, no one came close enough for us to ask for a second drink, so we went to the bar. When i told our waiter that the meal was under par, he shrugged and let out a wee gasp, not a care in the world.
After this experience we will never go back.
Everything was done very slap dash.

We had a very nice meal. Food was well cooked, staff was kind and attentive. I really am surprised by some of the poor reviews. The Royal Highland Hotel provided some really nice food/drink coupons as well.

Went tonight for dinner with my sister. I didn't like the look they gave Us, I guess it was because we are young and just arrived to town with all our belongings.
Haggies were alright. I órdered my sirloin rare and it came overcooked. Seabass with chorizo (...) was fine. Not missing out if you don't go.

Waited half an hour for main course and another half an hour for sweet terrible service

Food is acceptable. Atmosphere is a strange mixture of jobless and cheapness. If you have seen it once you don't need to visit it again.

Fantastic meal, great food and atmosphere. Wonderful service and prices. Had a delicious local ale and went back two days in a row. Can't wait to go back next time. Would eat there all the time if I lived locally.

Absolutely appalling service. Came in with my registered blind mother and asked for a seat with good lighting to which I received the reply, "sit there". Waited about 10 minutes to be asked if I was ready to order. Ordered tomato ketchup for my chips and did not receive it. Ordered a soda water with fresh lime, again did not receive. Rude staff who have no communication with eachother or their customers. Shambles of an establishment.

Came in and was greeted by an african waiter. I asked if i could have one of their cocktails that they have advertised. He then said "go to a pub" and then he literally just threw me out and was very intimidating as I am only 19 and very small for my age. I said i was confused and he then told me to "go be confused somewhere else". I was baffled by this. I went back in and asked to speak to the manger about this as I felt I had been treated unfairly as I was thrown out for no reason. When I asked for the manager the bartender said he was the manager (i've learned since then that he was not actually the manager) and when I asked why they threw me out and wouldn't serve me he just said "I don't need to give you a reason". I am really confused as I feel I wasn't doing anything wrong and am a very quiet person who doesn't cause trouble.

Do they even have a chef there? We had diner food at restaurant prices. Forget about giving instructions how you want your steak done? They can't do a decent medium and a medium rare properly. We wasted £100 for nothing.
