really nice food and a great waiter......

User

We went in without a reservation on a Saturday evening and were able to get seated (2 adults, 1 toddler), the waiter we had was absolutely fantastic with our 2 year old who was certainly not on her best ever behaviour due to having been stuck in a car most the day. He was more than patient with her and was very attentive throughout the meal! The meal was lovely and not being able to fault the waiter I can only apologise to him for not tipping as we literally had only pence in change and the card machine only appeared to asked about a charity donation :-(

Visited 6/7/18 for lunch staff & service fantastic, fabulous food and value thank you xxxx

This was our second visit and we had a great meal. The waiter was excellent and gave very good advice. The food was a little slow in coming but to be fair it was really busy and the wait wasn't excessive. The quality of the food was great. Lovely starters (bruschetta and meatballs) and mains (a seafood dish and a baked chicken dish) and they were happy to change the type of pasta in my dish from penne to spaghetti. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back.

The best Italian we have had in a long time

User

Service was excellent, food was amazing. Both grandsons finished all 3 of there courses! Would definitely go back.

User

User

Went Sunday lunch time. Was very quiet. Menu fairly limited but kinda expect that of Ask. Food was very nice and presented well. Bit over priced for the quantity of food you get. Drinks reasonably priced compared to other places similar to Ask... staff very attentive and friendly. I would return

User

We had ordered vegan risotto rosso and bruschett and blackcurrant squash. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it, ambience was gr8, and the service was on tym.

User

The food was OK but the lady who served us was superb and that is why I gave 4 and not 3 stars.

User

Lovely food good service

User

Good food, service has always been a little slow here on most visits, they seem to try and run this place on the bare minimum of staff, if you are not in a hurry.... no problems.

The place can be quite noisy due to high ceilings and no textiles to absorb the sound that seems to bounce around the place.

In all, none of this puts us off returning as the food has always been great and what staff present have always been polite and proffesional.

User

This time the food was warm and the credit card machine worked but after ordering our sweets 15 minutes later we are told they don’t have them! Sack the chef if he cannot produce a lemon tart

User

The food was good but the place was pretty cold, on a cold day! Personally I find a place more welcoming if it’s warm and it gives a home-like feel to the place! I would have had a few pints but not in the mood because of the temperature inside! The gentleman serving was very polite, friendly, prompt and helpful! A rather tall guy, to be more specific!

Disappointing.

We booked our table on advance for my birthday for tea time on a Saturday. Despite the restaurant being pretty empty, we were sat on a table right next to one of the only families in there. I asked to go be seated in a booth seat, but was told they were for larger groups. Those booths remained empty the whole time we were there.

The food was lacklustre and uninspiring.

The only saving grace were the waitresses who were very kind and polite.

We'll stick with Prezzo in future.

What a shame. I used to love ask food! But now, disappointed! How can there be a menu with only 3 salads and none of them vegetarian!! So I substituted the pollo and pancetta for chess and mushrooms, a greasy mess arrived - ate it as I was Hungey. Ordered a etna for pud to cheer myself up... the cream was off. The caramel sauce didn't melt the chocolate cup. I sent it back and didn't pay for it but all in all a very poor nights experience and now my husband says we won't go again!! Meh...

We booked a table for 6 for New Year's Eve at 3.30 and am shocked at the service we received from the minute we arrived. The restaurant was empty and a nice young waitress gave us menus as we arrived. She took our drinks order promptly but took forever to come back and take our food order. We waited a long time for our food considering there were very few people in the restaurant and when the order arrived it was completely wrong! The manager basically argued with me about what we ordered and they totally forgot my mother in laws food and promised it would be 5-6 mins whilst they got one ready. It took the best part of 30 mins by that time we had all finished ours. Her side order was cold by this point and the main was over cooked and dry!!! All the staff stood around chatting and didn't seem bothered about the mess up!! Shocking service, shocking food and will not be returning for sure!!!!

User

Pre-ordered .. was told they didint have our menu choices.. waited ages for food... then it was cold ... not worth it didn't even bother to wait for dessert but still had to pay set menu price

My children and I visited your restaurant last night and were very disappointed with two of our three main courses.

My eldest daughter and I had the chicken caesar salad: the lettuce was fresh and crunchy but that was the only positive thing I could say about it. There was virtually no dressing, the amount of chicken on the plate was pathetic, I would guess around half a chicken breast and the croutons were chewy and stale. The portion size for a main meal was small even for my eldest child (her dinner was NOT from the childrens menu) I paid over £10 each for these plates of lettuce, all I can say is that it must be a very good earner for the restaurant.

My youngest daughter had the childrens menu starter, the penne bolognese and the build it yourself ice cream which were all nice with only one exception, the meringue had an odd taste to it.

The positives of our visit were the waiter and the puddings. The waiter was very friendly and attentive even though he seemed to be waiting tables on his own and it was very busy. The puddings were all of a good standard and managed to fill our hungry beliies after the disappointing main courses.

We wont be visiting again.
