Excellent Turkish food. Highly recommend the Aspendos grill!

Probably the only restaurant that makes proper Turkish cuisine in the whole region if not the whole country.. Wonderful and tasty!

‘Rude and racist’

Very rude manager. Even his own staff are appalled by of his rudeness. See for yourself from reviews and his replies here.

Went with my family and ordered four 2 course meals. He never asked whether we’d like rice or chips. When the food came we asked the kind waitress if we can have chips for the kids instead of rice. From over at the bar, he shouted ‘you asked for rice’ and chips will cost you more. Tried to tell him he never asked and the kids always choose chips.
He then said I’ll give you a portion of chips but you ‘never come here again!’ Followed by ‘we are not a charity shop!’.

What’s wrong with that guy, I think he needs professional help. If you go then watch who’ll serve you and prepare to be insulted. Completely ruined our day needs to be reported to police. There’s enough incriminating evidence here alone.

Second time I've eaten here, extensive menu all cooked very well. Friendly owner who gives great service.

We went for dinner four of us as a family and we ordered the mixed grill and the kids ordered from the special menu. The meze that come with the special menu was more than enough for all 4. The portions were so big that we had to pack a fair amount of the mixed grill. I have read the previous reviews and it appears that other customers does not like the manager's way of doing but hey if you have been to Turkey on holidays you will see that this is their way of talking which could come accross as rude or unpleasant. I am pretty sure he is not racist or arrogant, but in fact he is welcoming and will also suggest to you foods to order. If you want good food with a traditional Turkish touch this is the place to go.
Unfortunately we are not from Scotland but would definitely go back if we have the opportunity.

Great service, food cooked to perfection and very generous portions. The liver starter was to die for. Fabulous homemade desserts that are different from the usual. Drinks are quite expensive but the food is very reasonable. Will definitely be back

Have passed this restaurant many times. So glad that I booked for a meal. Could not fault the food absolutely superb with excellent sized portions. Staff very friendly and helpful with advice. Will be back again Assendon in the not to distant future. 100% my type of cuisine.

Food was delicious and lamb was cooked to perfection! Had a great selection of vegetarian options which our friends appreciated a lot. Nice atmosphere and authentic look inside. Will be returning.

We asked the owner what he would recommend, he replied last time he had recommended something that he had to call the police. We should have left at this point but based on other reviews we thought at least the food will be good.

Sadly not the case, the food was uninspired and the service lackluster. Falafel should be light and flavoursome not like a smooth chickpea pattie. The houmous tasted old and oily, I asked if they did something with meat and a flat bread and was told we do not serve kebab, alright mate that's why I didnt ask for a kebab.

I'm not sure if we got a really off night or of the denizens of inverness don't know what Turkish food should taste like.

The final kick in the teeth was the charge for bread, when I drop £20 on a main and £8 on a starter with houmous etc I don't want to pay extra for bread.

Best avoided.

The humus in this restaurant is absolutely incredible!
All the food was extremely tasty and fresh, it is also vegetarian friendly place and has lots of vegetarian menu options.

When you enter, the place looks nice and warm but then you meet the waitress, who acts properly unimpressed by our presence there. Although actually polite, the tone and the fact that she was just shoving food on our table with no thought or delicacy kind of spoke for itself.

The wine. Expensive glass, which was half water, half wine. Still almost undrinkable.

The food. Decided to order something simple - we went for mediterranean pasta and lamb shank with sauce and one boiled potato, which was edible but that's it. Did they buy it frozen from tesco? It tasted like something a college student would cook in their dorm kitchen.

Oh, and as said in a previous comment, the owner is as unfriendly as the waitress. Ordered a tiny coffee. He pretended not to get what I was saying until I said the word espresso.

We travelled to Scotland from Canada in September of this year. First time ever in a Turkish Restaurant. We are vegetarian and were'n't familiar with the dishes but the staff took great delight in suggesting the various choices (which there were many) . We feel as though we made new friends and would love for them to visit us in Canada. The food was exceptional. Brand new taste sensations and the service was exemplary .
