Atholl Palace Hotel

Very nice, classy and historic hotel. Great scenery, small town with nice shops and restaurants nearby. Is you are in the area bring a visit (for a tea or coffee if you don't want to stay for a night).

The building and location is stunning, however I do think it needs redecorating for being a 4 star hotel, its very dated. I know the building is old but you can see how old the decor and furniture is too. Our room was freezing and I didnt get a good sleep at all. It was nice, but I'd expect a bit more from a 4 star. Overall, I was disappointed because it was fairly average at best.

First and foremost, the staff members were lovely and friendly, the views were stunning, I had the loveliest massage,!and the grounds were magical.

Everything else was quite average, which was disappointing for the price. Afternoon tea was just okay, the room was nice, but nothing special, and getting a (very expensive) burger from the bar for dinner one evening was quite the disappointment.

Overall, average enough, but not quite worth the money. Wander the grounds on your own time, grab a drink in the bar, or get a massage there, but it's not worth the money to actually stay there.

The overall lodge was beautiful. Location convenient, amenities and breakfast were good. Take a walk along some of the trails around the Palace. They are quite nice.

Great hotel. Friendly staff. Good sized rooms. Great food. The hotel grounds and amenities are top notch. The free to use self service laundry is a great idea.

Atholl Palace hotel is a great palace in a beautiful environment. The hotel is located on top of a hill and is quite the eye catcher. Built in the victorian era the palace has stayed true to its original style although it has served many different functions over the years. The interior of the hotel is Al rooms are unique. Our room was located on the second floor and had a good view. The bed was a little bit smaller than I'm normally used to but was fine. The bathroom was clean. The staff was oke. They we're helpful upon asking and did their job properly. Breakfast was rather good compared to other hotels. The room was magnificent and the food good. Pitlochry itself is quite a cosy town and can be used as a base to explorer Scotland

Beautiful historic building set in lovely grounds and woods. Stayed here on many occasions as well as visits for meals and afternoon tea. The grandeur of the interior mixed with a warm welcome from all staff, and family friendly environment keeps us coming back year after year.

Hotel sits in some absolutely fantastic scenery and looks very grand as one drives up to the entrance.
my wife and I stayed for two nights over a weekend to use their facilities and simply relax. Upon arriving it became clear that this is a very popular wedding venue as there was ones on both Fri and Sat. Fortunately the function room was not inside the Palace itself so we weren't disturbed a tall.
Decor is as one would expect for a Palace and it also comes with an in-house museum.
The only food we had while staying was breakfast and that was delicious. Self-serve buffet with everything one could want.
The room itself was fine but nothing exceptional.
The reason for only 3 stars was because the WiFi didn't work up at our room, the steam room was out of action and while stood at the bar for a quick drink prior to dinner the three staff that were at the bar ignored us completely even though no-one else was waiting for service. After 5 minutes of looking stupid we left and went into Pitlochry and enjoyed a drink there instead.
