Took them a bit to find the pin prick puncture on the side wall of my tyre, but the service was great

Franchise places such as Kwikfit, ats etc usually have a bad name however I have been going to ATS Euromaster for over 3 years now and I trust their work. ATS is reasonably priced and mechanics are always very friendly and helpful. Also being able to book in online and work carried out in Saturdays is a bonus.

Very slow service over an hour to get a tyre changed

User

Ordered two new front tyres with a free alignment check.
Tyres replaced but got a call that the tracking should be done as tyre worn on the inside so camber should be adjusted. Fine, £44.99 although had wheel adjustment done a week ago when changed the wishbones at another garage.
Got the car back and was told camber and toe were adjusted in the front - got a report but AFTER adjustment. Didn't seem right so checked with Renault and they confirmed on a Clio 2 camber is not adjustable. Called the ATS and popped back in.
Was explained that no, camber wasn't adjusted (it's within the manufacture specs anyway), just toe, price I paid did not cover camber adjustment anyway (wrong, covers, checked on the website). I asked then for the report BEFORE adjustment, surely if they checked they should have it - otherwise the adjustment would not be justified. And surprise, was told - we don't have it!
So free alignment check - what was that for? And how can I pay for this if I don't know (and they don't know either) what was the tracking BEFORE?
A con, to be honest. First and last time using ATS - can't recommend. £44.99 down the drain!

I have been using this garage for over 2 years now and I have always had amazing service with my Skoda. The car is always ready same day and I never feel ripped off. I am always provided with a full explanation with regards to the work required and carried out. Thank you for all your help guys.

Had a tyre puncture and was advised that the tyre need replaced. So, went for a new tyre. When I got my car back the tyre pressure on the car was not set to the vehicle specifications and it was over pressured. Things like these should be checked before as this is not a good practice.

Tried to rip me off - BIG TIME!

I have a Fiat Panda Dynamic, which decided one day that it didn't want to reverse anymore. The car would go into gear but when trying to reverse the rear of the car would rise and stay put. It would go forwards after sticking a bit but any attempt to reverse failed.
I called the garage to see if they could take a look at the car, as I am fairly new to the area and just wanted to get the nearest garage. They said to bring the car to the garage and they would see what the problem was - it was a free inspection, unfortunately there was a car parked directly in front of mine, so there was no space to manoeuvre out and get the car to the garage. I phoned ATS up and asked if they could send someone out to have a look at the car and maybe get it moving so that we could get it to the garage. After about an hour two mechanics showed up to have a look at the car, one of the guys got into the car, tried to reverse & couldn't so the other guy got underneath the rear of the car & smacked the inner wheel with a hammer (!) They didn't explain whether this was to try and unstick the wheel, brakes or whatever, this guy just hit the wheel to do something. After a while of attacking my car the mechanic decided it was best to just rev the engine as much as possible to skid the car backwards so that there was enough manoeuvring space - probably doing a fair amount of damage to the tyre.
With the car eventually in the garage I got a phone call saying "Basically the whole rear brake system has collapsed, it's all bent which is why the brakes were getting stuck, you need 2 new front tyres and the front brake pads need replacing - it'll be £488."
After a mini heart attack I told them I couldn't possibly afford that so they said "Well, we could probably do it for £380 instead" - still couldn't afford it. I then decided to ring up a mechanic that I knew & had known for years (unfortunately he lived about 300 miles away). I told him what they said & his response was "Have a look on ebay to see how much the parts you need are" Guess what, the parts came to no where near what they had quoted me, even with labour costs added!
I decided to take my car to another garage for a second opinion and upon telling ATS that I was taking my car away was told that I would need to pay a £30 inspection charge before taking my car away, despite being told it was FREE at the beginning of this whole process. When I got to the garage they acted like nothing had happened, there was no mention of an inspection charge & they let me take my car away with no hassle.
Unfortunately for them, the garage that I took my car to next were very honest with me and told me immediately after looking at my car that the car was not nearly as bad as ATS had made out - 1 tyre needed replacing, my front brake pads looked BRAND NEW and it was only one side of the rear brake system that had broken. £200 was quoted to fix these problems, it took them about half a day to fix it & the mechanics at the new garage were the nicest guys you could meet.
Unfortunately I can only assume that because I am a young female they thought they could take advantage.

ATS Euromaster will try to rip you off - DO NOT USE THEM.
