Commiserations to Mhairi Campbell who lost out in a District Final for the second time this week. This afternoon Mhairi had a shot at reaching Northfield for the second year running at Westermains BC where she faced Joy Haggart of Kilsyth BC in the Senior Singles. Despite taking a 14-7 lead Mhairi was pegged back as Joy went on to win 21-17 in an amazing comeback. Congratulations to Joy and also to former Club member Jacqueline McLean of Greenfaulds BC who won the Pairs Final with her partner Janey Nixon.
Good luck to Mhairi Campbell who represents the Club in the Bowls Scotland Senior Singles District Final v Kilsyth BC on Saturday 8th June at 2.00pm at Westermains BC,Kirkintilloch. At the same stage last year Mhairi was pipped 21-19 in the same competition so we wish Mhairi every success in going one better in 2019! Meanwhile this afternoon the DWBA District Finals were completed following Thursdays abandonment and Mhairi lost out to Irene Hannah of Greenfaulds in the Senior Singles. We wish Irene all the best for next weeks County Final.
Heavy Rain this afternoon caused the abandonment of all the DWBA District Finals at Campsie BC this afternoon. The Singles Final between Mhairi Campbell and Irene Hannah of Greenfaulds BC was stopped with the players tied at 12-12. The tie will resume next Tuesday afternoon 4th June at 2.00pm with all other abandoned games from today.
Good luck to Mhairi Campbell who plays at Campsie B.C. tomorrow afternoon at 2.00pm in the District Final of the DWBA Singles.

An honour for the Club to welcome the under 25 teams from Dumbartonshire and West Lothian and their Directors, this afternoon which ended in a 30 shot victory for the visitors. Thanks to all who contributed to a successful day for the Club and thanks to the guests from West Lothian and their supporters who made the journey to Auchinloch.
Another lovely afternoon at the Club as Past President Doreen Strachan delivers the first bowl at the Ladies Opening Day. A healthy turnout of members joined by many visiting Ladies from sister clubs.

Great weather for the Club Opening Day this afternoon with the first Jack and Bowl delivered by Ann Nicolson, wife of President Gus. Thanks to Ann and best wishes to Gus for a successful season.
It is with great regret that the Club announce the passing of Past President Helen Hector. A service of Thanksgiving in memory of Helen will take place at Lenzie Old Parish Church on Monday 8th April at 11.00am.
Many thanks to all members and guests who attended or supported the Charity Night last Saturday which raised £1100 for Crohn's Disease Charity from Jim Morrans who arranged the evening. The Club would like to endorse Jims gratitude to all who supported this worthy cause by way of donation or attendance.
Congratulations to our season 2018 Gents Champion Gus Nicolson who was elected Club President at the Club AGM held in the Clubhouse this evening. All the best for a successful Presidential season, Gus.

Great to see Paul Foster in action at Perth this afternoon in the company of fellow Northfield finalist and Auchinloch Past President Stuart McCulloch. A great semi final with the tightest of margins against Les Gillett made great viewing.
