About Auld Hundred Edinburgh

The building in which you find the Auld Hundred is said to have started life as a mission hall before being converted for use as a pub in about 1800.

Auld Hundred Edinburgh Description

In the centre of Edinburgh’s New Town, Auld Hundred serves traditional British pub food and real ale.

Its location at 100 Rose Street is in close proximity to Queen Street Gardens, Princes Street shopping destinations and National Gallery of Scotland. Waverley station is also minutes away from its venue.

Auld Hundred, housed within a historic building, showcases a classic pub décor with an expansive dining area dedicated to drinking and tasting good food in comfort and relaxation. The old-school pub organises regular fun events to keep its guests thoroughly entertained. Besides a few of the classic Scottish comfort dishes, Auld Hundred’s menu is dominated by a range of quality burgers, steaks and pies.

Apart from cask ales, Auld Hundred’s extensive drinks menu includes premium wine, beer, cider and malt whisky.

Wonderful pub with fantastic food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening.

User

Went here twice during our one week stay in Edinburgh because we enjoyed it so much the first time. Lovely atmosphere, clean, friendly service, kids menu, and excellent food and drink. I had the veggie haggis as I was a bit nervous to try the real deal...it was excellent, as were the neeps and tattles (turnip and potatoes). Go for the Sunday roast if you can!

User

Very nice lunch .... friendly service and good value for money....

User

Today served by Kirsten and one other Lassie for lunch upstairs in the Restaurant.. Myself and my Partner are always very pleased with the service and food. Today was no exception.. Popped in for lunch by myself. Had excellent service from all staff and a beautiful Salmon with Salad and Tatties but just too full for dessert this time. A lovely clean and well presented place. Highly recommend to all

User

Our favourite pub in Edinburgh. Wonderful staff, great food and reasonable prices. We ate and drank there every night of our four night stay and tried different things on the menu - all excellent. We will be back on our next visit to Edinburgh!!!

User

One of the best places we have eaten. Good and fast service by two lovely ladies. The haggis and steak pie are a must to eat here. We really loved it.

User

Omg. That's all what I can say. We walked in just off the street and the place was amazing. They were so busy. But we got the table within minutes. The staff was nice , helpful and fast. Food was to die for. Beautiful. will definitely return when I am back in Edinburgh.

Excellent place to eat. Food really good and staff friendly and helpful. We recommend this place to any of our friends when visiting Edinburgh. We consider it our 'local' when in the city.

User

Enjoyed a lovely lunch there on Saturday there were 6 of us and as they don't take bookings had a 50 minute wait for a table but we sat in the lovely bar downstairs until our table was ready. Was well worth the wait there were a few veggie options of which the haggis was really good, every one thoroughly enjoyed their meal which was also quite reasonably priced and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful.would definately go again

User

User

A small cosey place wirh good food at a reosonable price. My second time here. Had steak pie the first time. Then steak pie again the 2nd. Fantastic steak pie. Had a look on other tables & slobbered at how nice other dishes looked. Nice wee bar down the stairs for a drink before or after your meal. Staff polite & friendly too. So will be back!

3 friends and I ate here on our 1st night in Edinburgh. Between us we had 2 fish and chips, macaroni and cheese and the scampi and chips and all of us really enjoyed the food. Now being Canadian, we like a bit of veg, so 3 of us ordered a side of cole slaw which was disgusting to say the least so we sent them back-. There was way too much mayo, I think the cabbage combination had been around for a while as it was dry and there was just no flavour at all. 2 replaced with a side salad and remarked that they were very good. The wait staff was great, friendly and courteous and prices very much in line with other establishments. Would recommend OTHER than the cole slaw. 4 👍👍👍👍

User

Food was ok, nothing special. Service not great, we waited half an hour before anyone took our order and the food was slow to arrive. Food could have been hotter but not enough of an issue to complain about. All in all it was ok but not somewhere I would rush back to.

User

Sunday lunch is very poor. Disappointing portion size, the four we ordered weren't consistent in size, some came with very little veg and others with too much. The broccoli was almost raw and was rotten on one of our meals. Yorkshire puddings were frozen but had been cooked too long and were burnt. Meat very dry. £12.95 each for the pleasure. Not worth the money they are charging, which is a shame as it's a nice pub with a good atmosphere and good beer.

User

2 stars for the food only. Staff seemed overly stressed and therefore were very rude to us (which is unusual for them as they’re usually lovely!) One particular staff member was extremely condescending and really seemed to hate interacting with the public!

Really long waits at this time of year for a table, would avoid.
