A most enjoyable afternoon, tasting all things juniper at Rock Rose Gin at Dunnet Bay Distillery. Joanne gave us a fabulous tour and introduced us to Elizabeth the Still named after Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mum, after all her Castle, The Castle of Mey is just a stone's throw away.
Delish new gins to nose and sample included Old Tom pink grapefruit gin, and Weyland tasted the new Mey Selections Gin and the gorgeously sweet Clootie Dumpling Gin.
Well our own gin stash dot...h grow with a purchase of Broch Rose and the Pink Grapefruit... and me, well one of us had to drive!
Our heartfelt thanks to Martin and Claire for their very kind invitation. Most definitely a go-to destination for our guests to enjoy a delish Distillery Gin Tour. 11am and 2pm daily.

Well it's not often we see two Lotus Elise in the County, let alone both parked on our drive! So lovely to meet Neel and Sundip, taking time out to enjoy a Scottish Gin Tasting on their trip around the North Coast 500. Safe travels on the final leg of your journey.

Such a treat to be invited along by our lovely neighbours Mary and Dodo who were judging the Bulb Show in Wick. The gorgeous scent filled the hall.
Tea and home baking before proceedings began and delish lunch too all served on beautifully embroidered tablecloths... Well done to all the entrants, and all the organisers who work so very hard and made my Saturday a most enjoyable one.

A busy day adding canes for the summer perennials, the grass had its first cut too, before a delish G&T in the glorious February sunshine!

Beautiful walk from Staxigoe Harbour around Nosshead to Reiss, past the lighthouse and visit Sinclair Girnigoe Castle for a picnic lunch and on to Ackergill Tower and Reiss Beach ending at the beach beside Reiss Golf Club.
Our thanks to Marina (Highland Rangers) and Jim (Friends of John O'Groats Trail) for a fabulous day.

Well I never knew what lies beyond Old Wick Castle, and here it is the fabulous Brig O' Stack! Well done Vicky, after saying 'I'm not going', off she went. Our rugged coastiline never ceases to amaze me, there really is something special on every turn, just have to get out there! Happy trekking peeps xx

Feeling very privileged today to see the beautiful snowdrops at Dunrobin Castle, and enjoy a lovely stroll around the gardens too.
The sign on the gate says the Garden will be open until 11th March for the Snowdrop Festival and it's free too, such a treat.

Himself has been a busy bee this Valentine's Day, planting roses on what was a grassy bank, a couple of loving cranes await the scent of rose petals. Sunshine and patience is all that is required!
Happy Valentine's Day xx

Tasting all things juniper with Martin and Martina from Vienna. And the favourites of the day... The delicious warm and spicy notes from Bothy Gunshot Gin and fresh and citrussy Shetland Reel Simmer Dim.
Wishing you super happy birthday celebrations Martin on the beautiful Orkney Islands.

And a very good Monday morning to you!

The most welcoming people at a b n b putting all their guests at ease. Room just average size but plentiful amenities and close by pub recommendation was great.

Seriously, it will be difficult finding a better bed in the Highlands than that in the cottage of the Auld Post Office! Add to that a perfect breakfast, and all 100% of the B&B part is covered, right?

The cottage is nicely, neutrally decorated, crisp and clean, has a comfortable sitting room and a nice en-suite bathroom, as well as a small breakfast is all you could wish for, seriously, well done!

And then the hosts... they’re just wonderful! Apart from being very hospitable and sympathetic, they are able to offer you an excellent and insightful gin tasting experience in their gin bar! We’ve had a great time, learning things while discovering new things.

A true gem in Caithness!

Nous y sommes allés en juillet , et nous avons eu un très bon accueil !!! Et au départ le lendemain, un parfait petit déjeuner. Et leur maison a beaucoup de charme.

I stayed here when I was doing a WW2 display at the local primary school. A very pleasant warm welcome, a lovely room and delicious breakfast. The owners; Lynne and Weyland were very friendly and informative and I enjoyed learning about the local history from them. I highly recommend this B&B.

User

Has to be one of the nicest B&B's we have ever stayed in; decor, locally sourced fresh food, hospitality, friendliness, helpfulness and furniture. Cannot fault it and would definitely recommend without any hesitation!
