Alister Benn was born and raised in Scotland, and coming from an outdoor family, grew up with a profound interest and respect for the natural world and the environments around him. By pure chance he met his wife in Beijing in 2000, and since then, Juanli Sun has joined Alister in his travels, and for 7 years they dedicated the majority of their time to extensive exploration of Himalaya region and in 2011 they published a free eBook combined with Juanli's Poems and a collection of images they took of The Sacred Mountains of Tibet – Free Download to celebrate this special journey. He now lives in the NW Highlands of Scotland, where they conduct private one to one workshops and conduct photo trips to some extreme locations such as Iceland and Everest Region.
