Avondale Vet Group - Small Animal

We had to out our beloved pet dog to sleep and our own vet didn't have time to do it and we had to call around. My friend recommended Avondale and I am so glad she did. They welcomed us and gave us all the time we needed with Sam before and after. Genuinely a heartbreaking time but made a little easier with how fantastic the staff were. I am now going to register my cat with them because I couldn't see myself going any where else now.

This is Bella my 11 months old black Labrador. It's been a really difficult 3 months since she injured her leg and had surgery at Avondale. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the care she received before and after the operation and throughout her rehabilitation. Bella had a few complications and the vets at Avondale always seemed to have a solution.We have mainly dealt with Mark who really showed his dedication to his work and really went above and beyond to ensure Bella had the best of treatment. We were even referred to a specialist in Stirling. Throughout this time Mark kept in touch and always reassured me and I always felt very well informed. Receptionists and veterinary nurses were always very helpful and I really couldn't recommend this practice enough. Today we were told that we can finally go out walking again!! Thank you to each and every member of staff for your dedication, you make a great team.

The staff in the practice were fantastic with my partner and I while we said goodbye to our dog. Very supportive and thoughtful. Can't express our gratitude to you all, especially Dawn, enough. Best vets by a mile

The staff are always so nice to my nervous border collie. Even when she embarrasses me by turning into a slab of concrete when she is called into the consultation room. I would like to thank Mr Chapman for his help recently. He's very easy to talk to, as are all the staff, and he made us feel very welcome. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you Avondale vet group.

Thankyou to Avondale for partnering with Vetsnow to provide our young dog with excellent care on Christmas day when she was ill. The service was very friendly and reassuring with blood results within 20 minutes of seeing her and great follow up with Avondale. A really great emergency service.

Thanks to Matthew (yet again). He took care of my boy Charlie until he was kindly put to sleep aged 22 years. Today he has given me back my boy Topaz of 18 years although I understand not out of the woods yet as all test results not back in. To have another night (hopefully lots and lots of nights) makes it special. Thanks Matthew and your wonderful team for your compassionate care ��. Here's hoping for good news on rest of results xx

Recently finished working as a Locum. Great practice - one of the best I have worked in (and there have been many). Great building, great facilities and rare to find a team so committed to great care. Strathaven you are lucky!!!

My dog Robbie was in for surgery and the care he recieved was fantastic!....we were kept regulary up to date with what was happening with him amd how he was doing. Everyone was brilliant.

I just want to say what a fantastic vets this is we've had our pup since July and couldn't be happier with how she's been treated here and how fantastic the vet and vetinary nurses have been for us and chio. I especially want to say how brilliant Dawn the vet has been with our pup not only is she extremely good but she's lovely with us and chio.

Been with the practice for 4 years now. Wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Have built up trust and respect with Matthew Chapman and the girls at the front. Linda, Anne and Shena.

As yet we don't have a pet, however after speaking to Lindsay the manager at paws in the park about my daughters fear of dogs she invited us to join the puppy socialisation class on a Monday night, run by the lovely Nikki, we are always made more than welcome and has helped my daughters overcome her fears, thank you so much to the Lindsay and Nikki xxx

A slightly late, but huge, thank you to Matthew and everyone else at Avondale. Not only did they take excellent care of my cat, Callum, they also kept me up to date over the three days he was kept in on intravenous fluids at the end of April. Delighted to say Callum is back to his normal self.

A massive thank you to everyone at Avondale! Have always been delighted with the care my dogs have received here, they are extremely professional yes, but they also genuinely care about the well being of the animals. I brought my wee pup Jagger in last week to get castrated. I was in a state before hand, but they were so reassuring! The wee guy sailed through his op, and was full of beans as soon as he came round! They kept him for a few hours after, and gave me regular updates, and also a plan for going home with pain relief. A week on, the wound is healed, and he's his usual hyper self! Thank you all ��

Brilliant vet.Phoned on Monday morning on the off chance of a appointment after explaining what was wrong I got one that morning.The vet Nikki was great with my dog and came up with good ideas for treatment etc.This vets gets criticised too often.Personally I find the staff,nurses and vets all very helpful. Good job.

Staff were lovely and vet was very nice however quoting almost £500 for tooth extraction for my dog and telling me that he had a very bad infection which could lead to further problems eg kidney failure if the op was not done soon, said this may have been cause by a tick bite, all un necessary heart ache for myself and family worries sick about our family pet, so I got a 2nd opinion today from another vet and they told me yes 2 teeth have to be taken out due to a burst abscess and would only cost £180!! No infection present at all Upsetting really but no I won’t be using Strathaven vets again for any of my pets ��
