Ayrshire Counselling & Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Description

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have been trained integratively. What this means is I will ordinarily follow a Cognitive Behavioural treatment plan but if I feel your therapy would benefit from drawing upon other modalities then I am fully qualified to do so.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence based approach and is the NHS treatment of choice for many mental health issues. Additionally NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) has recommended CBT for the treatment of various mood disorders such as depression and anxiety.

There has been extensive research and evidence for CBT successful treatment in the following conditions:

anxiety
panic attacks
depression
sleep difficulties
obsessive compulsive disorder
chronic fatigue
anger management
self esteem
drug and alcohol problems
eating problems
phobias
post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

Each session will last 50 minutes. At the beginning of therapy we will work together by identifying your goals and how counselling may benefit you. Each session will be structured collaboratively and accordingly to suit your needs.

All contact of sessions will be treated confidentially. A confidentiality agreement will be in place to protect you the client and myself as therapist where confidentiality will be broken if I feel that you are a risk to yourself or others.

Each 50 minute session costs £35.

I also offer low cost rates for students and anyone that is unemployed as I fully believe that counselling should be accessible to each and every one of us.

If you feel that counselling would benefit you please do not hesitate to get in touch with me where we can speak over the telephone or via email. Additionally I happy to meet for a further discussion.

Great advice for girls at school navigating friendships....it's not easy. Also some thoughts for parents supporting their kids struggling with their peer relationships.

Let’s build empathy everywhere ....I would love to see more about empathy being taught and encouraged in schools.
