Not sure what the 2 star review is all about. If you're complaining about the prices then you don't deserve to be supporting this new and exciting enterprise.

We visited for the first time today and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Very easy to find and ample parking for a damp dreich day.

The estate accessible to the public may be small but they pack a lot in. The walled garden is stunning, one the best we've seen for a long time. Our 2 year old loved the water feature. Will definitely have to visit again to see the gardens in full bloom!

The bear walk is such a great idea for little people and the sweet story that goes with it.

We did eat at the cafe and although it was a bit of damp day today, the cafe was warm enough considering it appeared to be the old stables! Cake was a success according to the 2yo.

All grounds appear to be accessible to prams and buggies, however I didn't see if there was ramped access to the walled garden. Just a couple of steps up though. Gutted we missed the daffodils as they looked like they were everywhere.

Not sure if there are further wooded walks around the estate. We didn't get to the Covenanters tomb as the heavens opened. This I don't think is easily accessible as there a style over a wall.

We'll definitely be going back again. Well done to the people involved in bringing this beautiful area back to life. Look forward to seeing what you do in the future.

Note to Backhouse Rossie, a sign for the toilets and heritage centre would be useful. We didn't need to spend a penny but did need a bin and stumbled across the heritage centre when given directions for the toilet.
