SELF ISOLATION BADDINSGILL STYLE
City and town centres may be empty this weekend but Baddinsgill is busier than any other time in living memory (the photo is misleading!).
We've had the pleasure of sharing our hills with dozens and dozens of walkers and cyclists today. Without exception everyone has greeted us with a friendly smile and a wave (while respecting social distance). It's so nice to know that people seek the beauty and positivity of our countryside in times of dif...ficulty, and that by looking after it we are contributing to a happier, heathier community.
Thank you to everyone who remembered to close gates and keep their dogs on leads. We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

MODEL CAMPERS
We couldn't quite believe it on Saturday night (dark, January, Scotland, yellow weather warnings for wind and rain....) when a group of lads from Manchester knocked on our door saying that they were looking for somewhere to camp. We honestly thought they must all be off their rockers, but they survived and more importantly they were absolute model users of the countryside.
By 9am the next morning their campsite was immaculate, there wasn't even a hint of a scor...ch mark from their fire, or the tiniest bit of litter. You wouldn't have known they were there.
They were polite and friendly to everyone who crossed their path and we're delighted to see from their photos that they obviously had a great night despite the awful weather. Thank you for being so considerate, you're welcome back anytime!

If anyone is planning to take a walk/cycle/ride around the farm tomorrow (in spite of the foul weather warning!!!), please be aware that the drive in to Baddinsgill house will be closed for public access. There will be signs up to advise also. Walkers can go down to the Lyne to cross the bridge, which is now open.
The road up to and beyond the reservoir is still accessible.

✨🎄 INDIE ADVENT🎄✨ Today we celebrate another local independent business that is very close to our hearts, Lifelong Yarns. They are one of the first companies to offer knitters and crocheters luxury yarns spun from the fleece of the Scottish Blackface sheep (including our own). Grown and spun in the Borders of Scotland, their yarn blends are designed to create garments which last a lifetime, and result in wools that are good for the knitter, good for the shepherd, and good for the environment.
