DODDIE WEIR LIVE / TUE 6 NOVEMBER / 7.30pm
Come and join rugby legend Doddie Weir at the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels as we celebrate the publication of his autobiography!
A giant in all respects, Doddie played 61 times for Scotland and was a British Lion in the 1997 tour of South Africa. And just as Doddie dealt with the raw physicality of rugby as a second row forward, he has also squared up to the even greater challenge of dealing with a diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease wi...th a unique mixture of grit and geniality. Doddie was irresistible to watch – and he is wonderful, funny and charismatic company. Come and listen to him & his co-author Stewart Weir talk to Alistair Moffat about his life and career.
His autobiography will be on sale, with a book signing after the event.

a not-to-be-missed event for book lovers. Looking forward to the Walter Scott winners for this year.

Why no mention of the wonderful Doddie Weir, Finlay Calder and Gary Armstrong. I have never laughed so hard whilst also feeling so sad. Quite a feat and gained a standing ovation.

User

Three generations of my family enjoyed your wonderful event - the books, the authors, the juggling, the coffee and of course the beer tent. Will definitely be back next year.

User

Thank you for another great festival! Well done to everyone who organised it. Well worth the journey from Edinburgh every day! Roll on next year!

User

Shhhh it's a secret quite how fabulous this is. So be careful who you tell

User

One of the most intimate and special book festivals out there. Honoured to have been invited twice to speak at it. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you.

User

Love this book festival. It all works for me. Except Viv Groskop. Wish I had booked something else. Just not that funny.

User

It's held in Melrose and, like the town, it's simply lovely. It always amazes us, the quality of the authors who attend and speak. It's an annual treat for my wife and me.

User

I have had a fantastic weekend. This is the most amazing event and we are so lucky to have it taming place on our doorstep. Looking forward to next year already!

User

Great people, great authors. A must visit for everyone!

User

Fantastic day with my daughters who met their favourite author. Would highly recommend.

Brilliant festival as always. Excellent guests, fabulous organisation and fantastic weather. What more could you want! I hear John Cleese was even entertaining.
