About Baked Pizza Al Taglio

We are a new pizza joint opening soon in Glasgow!

Our specialty is large rectangular roman-style pizza sold by the slice, known in Italy as pizza al taglio. Our bubbly dough is proved for 72 hours making it light, easily digestible, but also super crunchy and bursting with flavour. Whether it is the freshest seasonal UK produce or cured meats imported straight from Italy, you can rest assured that we only use the best ingredients possible on our pizzas!

Our vision is to provide a pizza menu inspired by in-season ingredients, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, specially designed to let our veggies shine!

Oh, and we don’t just serve pizza! A range of fantastic freshly made salads served with our super special homemade focaccia and a whole range of traditional roman street food including arancinis, supplis, montanaras and pizza fritta will be waiting for you in store.

Trust me you do not want to miss our stracchino pizza tonight! Stracchino is a fresh Italian cheese produced by the milk of alpine cows. Its name is a derivative from the word ‘stracco’, meaning ‘tired’ in italian. Why ‘tired’? Because it is produced by cows which were moved seasonally, up and down the Alps, to different pastures and must be quite tired 🐮💚! The milk of these ‘athletic’ 🤣cows is richer in fats and more acidic giving the cheese its characteristic unique flavours. It is our current favourite.. it is velvet, mild, creamy, delicate.. pure heavenly! @ BAKED pizza al taglio

What does BAKED pizza bring you in mind? Draw a doodle, win BAKED slices and get a chance to be featured on our greaseproof paper which will comprise a collage of as many possible of the quick sketches and doodles from all the BAKED pizza al taglio community.
PS. This is by no means a competition and we would not want anybody to devote time to this simply for a reward, but rather for the fun of it. We found this project as a fun and creative way to engage with the community that loves our pizza. We want to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to provide us with their doodle. It does not have to look professional! The slices are given as a thank you and they are not a form of payment.

We are so happy to take part in 'Chef's Veg City Challenge' and support @VegCities ‘ effort to encourage people to grow, cook, sell and serve more vegetables. We were one of sixteen restaurants in Glasgow to receive a ‘mystery’ box of veg from local community and market gardens, and the challenge was to create a dish using the surprise veg. We want to use our participation as an opportunity to raise awareness regarding this campaign. Veg Cities is a national campaign from the... Sustainable Food Cities network. In Glasgow this campaign has been led by the @glasgowcommunityfoodnetwork which looks to evolve the city's food culture and promote local food in homes and restaurants. We are grateful to have been part of this and we urge you all to shop local and support community growers simply because the variety of things they grow for the community is vast and also because…you cannot get any better!

PIZZA DOODLES PROJECT 🎨🍕CALLING FOR CREATIVE PIZZA LOVER SOULS. We are calling all pizza lovers, doodly kids, artists, illustrators and painter cats and dogs to participate in our effort to create the coolest greaseproof paper Glasgow has ever seen. Our greaseproof paper will accompany any BAKED slices served in store and delivered all over Glasgow with our soon to be delivery service. We want to make a compilation of sketches/doodles of BAKED pizza slices, drawn by anybody i...n Glasgow and all over the world who knows of our pizza. Feel free to use our facebook/ Instagram photos as inspiration, but if you feel more adventurous and you want to draw the actual munching process, the feelings created or anything that BAKED brings you in mind, don’t hesitate to do that! We hope to create a collage of some of the drawings sent to us that will be printed in one colour ink on our brown craft greaseproof paper. All creators of the doodles that will end up on our greaseproof will get two slices on the house, but all who kindly provided a drawing will be featured on our page (if they want). Non-professionals of all ages are super encouraged to participate. Drawings that reach us by any means possible (email, facebook, Instagram, post, hand in, flying etc) will be counted in :)

Wow! Can seriously say this was the crispiest, tastiest, most innovative pizza I've ever had! If you live in Glasgow or are visiting like me, don't miss the opportunity for this amazing, no-where-to-be-found pizza! Kudos to the down-to-earth and friendly blokes running the place! We popped in to this great place after a visit to Tennents brewery. The staff were very courteous and helpful. There was a great selection of pizza to choose from. This is not round pizza on a plate - this is authentic Italian street food. One of our group doesn't like tomato so was delighted to see potato and rosemary Cristiano( or pizza but without tomato) I had spinach and mushroom which was really delicious. I don't normally like thick pizza but as the dough was very light with a very crispy bottom, it was not heavy. My husband had Italian sausage and courgette and my brother in law the anchovy. They offer 2 starters ,Arancini and suppli. Unfortunately due to large crowds coming in after the pubs closed last night, they were have to remake today's supply. However we did have the suppli when they were ready. Beautiful risotto croquettes with quality mozzarella that oozed from the centre. Amazing for £1.20! We brought some of our own beer and also bought Oransoda a high end quality Italian soft drink. They also stock San Pellegrino. Pizza squares were £2.50-£3.50. I did ask for some Fennel salami on mine and that was an extra £1.00 which was high for two very thin slices and not necessary due to the amount of spinach and mushrooms already there. I've always thought that pizza Al taglio was something that would go down well in Glasgow. No cutlery and some clean simple furniture. Great food crazy prices! Get down and support this great new business

Very excellent. The vegan options are superb, more of these please. our server Sam was also very friendly, informative and entertaining. A warming experience, definitely worth traveling to the east end for.

Those pizzas are among the best I've ever eaten!

The dough is just amazing, there are wide ranges of choices and also for the vegetarians. I've been to the place several times and I've tried almost all the pizzas. I've never been disappointed! Also, the price is more than correct for the size of the slices and the quality! I recommend :)

Stopped by for a quick lunch today, and I'm so glad I did! There's a wide choice of vegan pizza, I had the mushroom and spinach one and it was great - crispy and tasty, it reminds me of the one I have back in Italy. It was very reasonably priced, too! The staff is friendly and welcoming, which means I'll definitely return. Bravi ragazzi!

Popped in last weekend before jumping on train at Bellgrove, was the tastiest and perfect train food. Was like a mini picnic. LOVED the fennel, salami combination & the banging grape, goats cheese slice. Our mushroom & spinach number was loaded inch-thick with toppings and the arancini packed a wee punch. Staff so knowledgable about their produce and clearly passionate about their craft and introducing new flavour combinations!

New favourite place. Pizza is class. Arancini blew my mind. Prices are ideal too. Will definitely be taking advantage of the BYOB rule soon. Most of all but, both guys who run it are so sound. Very cool place.

My wife and me went at Baked Pizza al taglio today for the first time. We had 2 slices of pizza each. I had one with pancetta, potatoes & mozzarella and one with spinach and mushrooms. My wife had one with salame and pomodorini and the other one with potatoes.

We loved our pizzas! The ingredient were fresh and the choice of pizza were vast! I especially enjoyed the crust. It was crunchy and soft at the same time. The place is very nice and clean. I loved the wee planted on the shelf. They give a fresh and relaxing touch to the environment. The guys were so kind and nice. We made us feel at home! They told us they have special pizzas during the weekend and we can't wait to try them all!!

My son bought a selection of pizza tonight and I must say it is the best pizza I have tasted in a long time! It so reminded me of my nonna’s pizza from years ago! Thanks guys! We will be back very soon!����

Me and my friend found out about this place on Instagram and when we saw they have a potatoes and rosemary pizza we had to go and give it a try. There were a lot of varieties of pizza and, being lactose intolerant, I appreciated the fact they have a good selection of pizza without cheese. Both me and my friend loved everything we tried and the place have an excellent price/quality ratio. Also, the staff is really nice and lovely. They even gifted us some slices of pizza since it was closing time. Highly recommended!

I am italian and I’ve been to “baked” this afternoon.

I have found a place so clean and organised. There were a lot of varieties of pizza and baked’s staff was so welcoming, friendly and kind.

When I tasted the pizza I recognised the freshness of the ingredients.

I suggest to everyone to try it!

Found out about this place on Instagram, saw a picture of a slice of the potatoes and rosemary and I HAD TO give it a try last night!! As an Italian born and raised, this is one of the best PIZZA ROMANA I have ever had! And please note that I love Roman style pizza even more than Neapolitan pizza! Very cheap, absolutely wonderful taste, and don't forget to give the amazing Supplì and Arancini a go as well!! Also as it was almost closing time, the lovely guys there gifted me and my friend with some more slices to take home... very appreciated!! <3 Highly recommended place, loved it, can't wait to come back already! Grazie!!! <3

BEST pizza I have ever had! Ever. Great guys who are passionate about the quality of the food they make. Seriously - get yourself down there. Loads for everyone whether you eat meat, are veggie or vegan. Crispiest pizza base ever with a brilliant variety of topping. So happy this has opened up in Dennistoun!
