Have you tried Whiteinch Fruit's gorgeous elderflower cordial yet? Made locally from flowers gathered on wildlife-friendly land...

Happy Monday Bakehouse peeps! There is so much beautiful seasonal produce available now that I just had to share it all with you... Huge thanks as always to our suppliers at Wester Lawrenceton (certified organic), Roseisle Gardens and Whiteinch.

Hello and Happy Sunday to you all! One of our favourite Sunday things to make is French Toast...lush! Have you had our French Toast? We make it with Organic Sourdough Bread from our fantastic artisan bakers in The Findhorn Bakery next door. It is the ideal bread for French Toast imho as it has a dense chewy texture that absorbs loads of egg so the resulting toast is sumptuous and melting. It also makes great toast, and can even be hollowed out to make an amazing layered picn...ic loaf! (save the middle for breadcrumbs!) And it is what we use for pur pizza dough... Anyway, what I really wanted to say before I started dreaming about French Toast, is that our Organic Sourdough is naturally-made, with no flour improvers or other 'cheats'. As supporters of the Real Bread Campaign we are 100% behind their campaign to 'out' supernarket sourdough for the pretend product it is.

Went in for a quick lunch and what a lunch it was!

Taste of India, lovely Lentil Dahl and curried cabbage accompanied with Naan, Raita and pickle.

The Dhal and cabbage were just amazing, the flavours just smacked you round the mouth but in a good way!

All washed down with a cheeky Red Kite ale.

I love coming in here as you always find something different and it's always tasty.

Well recommended!

We've been in a few times previously as I love the coffee, but today was the first time i've had lunch. Seriously one of the best lunches I've ever had I had the falafel which comes with salad, bulgar wheat, pitta bread and raita. All homemade and so fresh tasting. It's good to go somewhere with so many veggie options its been very busy everytime we've been there which speaks for itself! Staff very friendly too....what's not to love?!!

We visited Findhorn from Aberdeen last weekend. What a truly amazing village, The Foundation, and such a clean, unpolluted bay. The Bakehouse is an outstanding coffee shop and bakery; lovely fresh food with no additives; great choice of good stuff to buy to take home, and exceptionally nice staff. Only one small thing: I would prefer a first come, first served arrangement instead of so many reserved tables, at a time when people are dropping in for a quick coffee, and not a meal. But what a superb find. We shall return. Thank you. Judy and Jim.
