Our floral workshops offer the perfect guide for those looking to grow, cut and arrange fresh cut garden flowers.
The class will cover putting together a hand-tied bouquet with seasonal blooms grown here on the farm at The Walled Garden at Strathtyrum.
Each class will commence with a guided tour of the garden with head gardener, Derek, where you will be shown all the varieties of cut flowers grown, how and when to cut, conditioning them prior to arranging and a general unders...tanding of how to successfully choose and grow a variety cut flowers for our Scottish climate.
After the tour, you will gather your chosen cuttings in preparation to be put together under the careful instruction of our florists in the garden with light refreshments.
If the weather does not permit outdoor arranging, the class will take place under cover at The Flower Shed.
All flowers, materials and refreshments are included. Please bring appropriate clothing and footwear for outdoor weather.
Dates: Saturday 18th May Saturday 8th June Saturday 24th August Saturday 14th September

"If eggs sink to the bottom of a bowl of cold water and lie flat on their sides, they are very fresh. If they are less fresh but still good to eat, they will stand on one end at the bottom. If they float to the surface, they are no longer fresh enough to eat".
