It's an average hotel. A bit pricey for what it is however it was the summer holidays so I assume the prices sneak up. It had plenty of storage and good tea/coffee facilities. Nice new looking bathroom although the shower was low on power. Nice views and a window that opened properly 😁 The worst thing was the bed... lumpy pillows, the most uncomfortable mattress ever! Springy and lumpy obviously very old. The quilt felt d and thin too. Had very little sleep because of this.
I wouldn't stay there again unless they replaced the mattresses etc. Then yep I would book again.
Can't comment on the breakfast I didn't have none.
A great stay for a reasonable price. The standard and quality of the room was actually higher than what I had expected it to be. Very central location and close to a lot of great attractions, with the National Portrait Gallery as one of its closest neighbours. I really enjoyed my stay here, and would love to book a new stay next time I'm in town.
A nice place to stay in, the staff is very friendly and professional.
My room was a single bed en-suite room, very comfy and clean.
The best part of my staying was without a doubt breakfast time: delicious and with lots of choices! The Hotel is very close to the city centre wich is quite good, in ten minutes you can find yourself in the very heart of the town.

Excelent location in the New town just across bus station, stand comedy club and national portrait museum. The hotel is a listed building but recently refurbished so the rooms are nice and clean.
No lift so keep in mind there are 3 floors and lots of stairs. If you could avoid the basement would be great also if you get a room at the back there are nice views over the Firth of Forth. The staff is polite and helpful

Basement room made it difficult to move luggage down however bathroom was clean and the small room was someplace nice to sleep.
Clean sheets, Dirty carpets. Clean basin, broken fixtures. Big room, nowhere to put your bag but the floor. Uneven standard, I feel like the "super offer" I got, was not far off the mark? Seems like this hotel has had a "luxury" overhaul on a rather tight budget a few years back, and it is now slightly gone to seed due to unexperienced, underpaid staff? I have no specific complaints. My low rating is due to services and standards expected at the full price - clean and in good repair. No fancy backlit mirrors needed.
Room was average, basement room and old window with constant draft coming through. Very noisy guests next door all night. Good location, easy walk to main shopping street and station. Only needed for somewhere to stay overnight, it done the job.
