Ballater Farmers Market

About Ballater Farmers Market

An outdoor food market established in 2015, supporting local businesses, charities and organisations. Every 4th Saturday of every month, April - November.

Ballater Farmers Market Description

Ballater was developed around 1770, the Pananich Mineral Well (now bottled as Deeside Water) was a main attraction as it meant to heal many ailments. The arrival of the railway station in 1886 (until 1966) brought trade, transport and tourism.

Now, the town supports lots of beautiful walks and cycle routes nearby such as the surrounding hills, Craigendarroch, Craig Coillich, Sgor Buidhe and around Loch Muick, Burn o' Vat and the Cambus o' May forest walks (to name a few. . . )

There are two cycle hire shops and campsite to camp with your caravan or tent.

There are a variety of great food, hardware and gift shops for everything you need.

Lots to see such as the Victoria Barracks, recently restored historical sites such as the Mackenzie Memorial, the Scotch Derrick Crane, the Jubilee Trough, the AA Box 472, and the Diamond Jubilee Cairn.

Ballater has a very strong community and we are so proud to be part of that. You will no doubt have a friendly welcome from any of the locals.
