Small station with a manned ticket office. Limited street parking outside.

We drove from Drymen to Balloch to catch a train to Glasgow for the day. The wee station was easy to find and, luckily, we were able to street-park just beside it. Mind you, there's plenty of free parking 5 minutes walk away at the National Parks Centre. The lassie - for such she was - behind the ticket desk was lovely to us old fogies; bright, efficient and full of smiles. The station itself was welcoming, clean and tidy with lots of covered waiting space.

This is the terminal station on the Airdrie to Balloch or Cumbernauld to Balloch routes via Glasgow Queen Street Low Level Station. Its a slightly slower route than the trains out to Helensburgh, but I think that's more to do with the number of stops between Glasgow and Dumbarton than the speed of the train. Trains therefore leave every half hour and whilst they aren't the most modern trains they are good enough.

The station is so close to the tourist spots of Balloch Park and the boat tours, with Lomond Shores a bit further away. The tourist office is literally just across the road from the station so tourists can discover what they want to do in the area.
