Yesterday (Saturday) I began to experience trouble with my VW Golf Mk 6 1.5 litre diesel coming into Blairgowrie. The flashing warning light indicated an "engine malfunction" and the car was juddering and not pulling properly. I found the Balmoral Garage in the town and asked them for some help. Despite no mechanics being available on a Saturday, two of the Salesroom staff went out of their way to be helpful as they heard that I had to get back to Edinburgh (nearly 70 miles away) and my friends to Fife. A diagnostic test showed a fuel injector problem but Bob and his colleague assured me if I kept the engine revs under 2000 rpm in all gears I could make it back safely, albeit slowly, which I eventually managed to do OK. They refused to accept any payment for their kind and re-assuring help and therefore I have no hesitation in recommending the Balmoral garage and their helpful staff to any other road users. 17 April 2016
