Beautiful place with relatively large and cozy rooms and great host. The best price/value I've seen in Scotland so far.

We (couple, Germany) stayed at Balmuirfield house early August 2017 together with our six months old baby and it was definitely the best Scotland experience we could imagine. Starting with the lovely venue, it's garden and the perfect rooms, the owner's family and their care was extraordinary. Great tips, great food and great stories. We really enjoyed the stay and can only recommend to stay here.

Lovely, large, and well decorated rooms, friendly hosts and delicious Scottish breakfast (try the haggis, they cook it so well). We would definitely stay again.

A wonderful place to stay giving you access to the many sights in the area. Morag and Stuart are wonderful hosts and welcome you to their inn. The breakfast is huge, filling and tasty. Stuart makes the best omelette I've ever had! I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Touring Scotland on a commercial photography shoot and ended up at Balmuirfield House for a night. What a find! Awesome place, beautifully decorated, huge bedrooms with antique furniture, great food and friendly hosts. Well done Stuart, Balmuirfield is an excellent place and I will be back with the family - the wife was very jealous when she saw where I'd stayed!

What a warm welcome Morag and Stuart provide for a couple of tired travellers. Arriving at their gorgeous manor house last week, after a drive down from Aberdeen, my friend and I were invited into the warm glow of their home. The entrance hall is spectacular and gives you an idea of the high standards of decoration and attention to detail in the rest of the house. And although this is a large home it feels cosy thanks, in part, to a roaring fire in the drawing room, where, on arrival, we were treated to coffee, tea, biscuits or whatever we wanted. Within 2 minutes it's clear that Morag and Stuart are natural hosts - what I'd call people persons. They make you feel welcome. Nothing is too much bother and they're walking encyclopedias about the local area, and beyond. If you want to know about where to go shopping, what restaurants to try, where to go for nature walks, or just generally what to do they'll be able to help you out. Although you might have to stay a bit longer than you first planned :) I've never seen B&B rooms like the ones at Balmuirfield House. The standard is exceptional - all the furniture and furnishings have been carefully selected with an eye for detail, and superior quality. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to experience a truly Scottish B&B with wonderful hosts. Thanks Mo & Stuart :)

Our Family spent a wonderful relaxing weekend at the Balmuirfield, dinner on the 2nd night was a fantastic Veggie Lasagne, it was soo tasty, must have recruited an ex Chef for the night.........
