Thanks for the chocolates Emma. I don't think accepting these was against our anti-bribery and corruption policy, although i will check after i've eaten all of mine πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It's the little things that put a smile on your face 😁😁 a gesture from the kids and staff at St Rochs After School Service.

Lauren Gault is working with us on our Artist in Residence Programme funded by Creative Scotland which intends to bring artists together with children, playworkers and the wider locality of Dalmarnock to explore ideas and make art works of mutual interest. Week 2's first workshop focused on imagining the playground as a body and thinking about sculpture as 'having' or 'adding' muscle and being able to be 'activated' by users. The second workshop focused on what we can 'see', the eye as an organ, 'zooming', surface detail, transparency, translation of 'sight' or 'seen' information - what can we actually 'see' as image/action/emotion. We're looking forward to seeing what Lauren creates with everyone this week!

OUR FACEBOOK DONATE BUTTON IS BACK IN ACTION!!!
Over the last 4 weeks we have had a lot of people asking about making donations to the playground. Sadly our donate button was playing up, however it is now sorted and ready to go.
The donate button will take you to our website where you would click on any of the donate buttons available.
... Any donations made will benefit the attendants of the playground directly through workshops, food and any other day to day activities/costs.
As always our services and playground is totally FREE and you should noy feel obliged to donate, but know that if you choose to you will be now be part of a team that are striving everyday to make play free, accessible, safe , free and fun to as many children as possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank anyone who has donated up until this point for their kindness and support.
And always remember , β€œChildren need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. Play is a necessity.” -Kay Redfield Jamison

It's not often we talk about the number of children attending our playground, because we believe that quality of service is what really matters. That being said today marked possibly our busiest day ever.
The numbers have been great this summer and we have been averaging approx 80 kids per day, but today we racked up at least 151 children on the site πŸ€”πŸ€©πŸ˜Ž
This means that 151 CHILDREN had the opportunity to eat our freshly prepared food (big thanks to Alistair) , socialise, ...hang outin a safe space, test themselves and most importantly... PLAY FREELY!!
If you have any stories from the summer programme why not share it on our reviews page???
Now to do it all again tomorrow 😁😁😁

What a great day today, thank you Baltic Street Park. My four year old loved it. His favourite part was the imaginative play led by the drama instructor there today- Fraser. The range of fruit was fantastic he tried red gooseberries for the first time- a new favourite. Then a delicious hot lunch- for free! What a valuable programme for the local community and beyond. Would highly recommend to children how like outdoor, loose parts play or just making new friends. We will be coming back.

User

Such a fantastic space. Kids get to be kids, play, create, collaborate, make friends, challenge themselves, encourage others. Staff are friendly and very welcoming. Dalmarnock is so lucky to have this place to call their own.

User

Not an iPad or any technology in sight just kids having a great time getting dirty, climbing and having fun, staff are amazing and the food is delicious my 3 girls want to come back tomorrow οΏ½

User

My kids all had a great time here. Ages ranging from 3 to 11

Not one mention of being board, and only left because they were tired.

What an absolute gem of a place.

User

My 3 year old son loves it here. It’s great to see him doing the things we did as children. No WiFi, no iPads, just making mud soup and climbing trees οΏ½ The staff are all amazing and genuinely care for the kids. Xxxxx

User

Mud, tree jumps, tyre swings, old shopping trolleys, sand, hideaways.. I took 4 children age 5-8 and dragged them reluctantly out after 4 hours! Outdoors, no frills, fantastic - and free. Packed lunch and change of clothes are a good idea. Thoroughly recommend, especially if your children like mud and adventure.

User

Just back from our 1st visit to the playground and I think it's the best park we have ever been to!! Visited with 2 boys aged 8 who enjoyed the climbing and jumping especially. The staff were all lovley and so welcoming to us new faces. It was so nice seeing children working together and negotiating over use of the hammers to assist with den building. What finished off a great day was the amazing feed that we all got. We could pick from hotdogs, burgers, chicken thighs or mince n tarries. Even before lunch was served there was an abundance of fruit to pick from. Cannot believe we didn't need to pay a penny for any of this!! A fantastic day out and if I wasn't working tomorrow I'd be back that quick. Thankyou.

User

Insafe Hands Aftercare attended today and both the children and adults had an amazing time. They were very thankful to staff who offered out food and drinks to all and were extremely helpful. The children have all asked to go back, so we hope to be seeing you again. many thanks for such an enjoyable day.

User

I've wanted to take my kids here for a while and today we finally went with friends - wow. What an amazing place, we received such a warm welcome, the kids didn't want to leave and to be honest neither did us adults! We will definitely be back.

User

Had a great time here today with 2 older boys and 2 younger girls even after one of them declared hows this supposed to be fun. We were welcomed and introduced to the 2 Als or the A team as i knicknamed them οΏ½ the kids then went away to explore, climb, play and get muddy. We were a 2min walk away from Dalmarnock train station, plenty car spaces nearby if driving. Food and hot drinks were being offered throughtout and it was free !! We'll definately be back... thank you guys.

User
