When I am visiting from England we always come to Bar Napoli for lunch. Awesome three course lunch menu for £7.95. I had pâté, risotto and ice cream and left there totally stuffed. A must to visit if you are in Edinburgh......

We come every time we come to Edinburgh and we have never been disappointed. Good portions and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and we will come back again for sure ��

Was in Bar Napoli yesterday with my mum and sister, I had Minestrone Soup, Chicken with a lovely cream sauce with mushrooms. The lemon cake we had for dessert which was delicious! As my sister didn’t have the lunch menu she wasn’t having dessert, when the waiter brought the cake over he also gave a portion to my sister as he didn’t want to leave her out! The staff were so lovely and attentive couldn’t fault the experience. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had an impromptu dinner here on Saturday night for the very first time. We had not booked and the restaurant was very busy but they found us a lovely table for two. The service was fantastic and the Italian waitress was very nice. The food was exquisite and the wine gorgeous. We had a two course meal with wine and coffee and the price was incredibly good value. I use a white cane due to very poor sight and the staff really looked after me. A truly faultless experience and we can’t wait to go back.

Lovely lunch, efficient service, great atmosphere and food that took me back to Italy with every mouthful. I used to come here a lot as a student in the early noughties and rediscovered it again last year.

Love the food the lunch time menu is even better, good good at a good price �

Always a lovely warm welcome at Bar Napoli. Usually eat there in the evening but yesterday enjoyed lunch with my sister. Food was excellent and all served with a smile. Bar Napoli is a regular on our Edinburgh itinerary as we are guaranteed good food at reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere throughout. Highly recommended.

After reading a previous review, I had to wonder if I had visited the same restaurant. We visited the restaurant on Friday at lunchtime and yes we had to wait for a seat but it was extremely busy. We had the lunch special and a bottle old house wine. Considering the price, the food was excellent and the wine was not too bad either. The best judge of our meal was the empty plates and the empty wine bottle. Will we be back ? Definitely.

We usually go to another Italian restaurant for lunch but as it was closed we decided to try the Bar Napoli as we had heard that it was good. I had the minestrone soup, it looked like dishwater with onions and celery. The ham salad was a layer of iceberg lettuce with a few pieces of tomato and cucumber and some wilted rocket and 6 thin bits of processed ham. No dressing or olive oil offered. Will not be back
