Went for meal last night for competition I won was lovely and great service so nice and relaxed thanks again we will be back

We had our wedding reception here in August and had the most perfect day thanks to Gary, Lesley and all of the fantastic, friendly staff. The food was amazing, excellent service and lovely setting. We would highly recommend Barend bar and restaraunt for small functions, family get togethers and meals out. Thank you to all of the staff for making our day so perfect from start to finish!

Had my 40th Birthday Meal here, with 13 members of Family last September and everything was great � the food lovely and Staff really nice, would highly recommend. We've been holidaying here since I was little and had plenty of meals here even Christmas Day meal. We're back again this September, bringing some other family members who've never been before. � � � � �

Had a great meal yesterday. Nice and busy with footie on, lovely atmosphere and food was delicious. Just what you need after hours romping around the beach! And dog & child friendly to boot, couldn't have been any more perfect Will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Barend is a great traditional pub/restaurant. Lovely open fire, friendly staff, get some games of pool/darts and have a great meal either sitting in the restaurant or bar. The meals are absolutely delicious and at a great price......the steak pie is especially good! Best I've ever tasted! Such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and the kids really enjoy it too. We're looking forward to trying the quiz night tomorrow...which is every Friday. Dogs are very welcome too....we never had a dog with us, but a few people were in with dogs. Defo recommend a visit, even if not staying on site. Xx�

Awesome sirloin in the restaurant last night, pink in the middle just as it should be. The Mrs made the comment that it was the size of a house brick. Nearly too full to enjoy the crumble which followed.

As we own a static caravan at Sandyhills we visit here often. We have never been disappointed in the food or the service we would recommend a visit.

The only reason I scored four and not five was because we wanted to buy two £50 gift vouchers and they said we couldn't get them until next week when they would print them off. Nobody seemed particularly bothered so we changed our minds and they list a £100 sale. Couldn't fault the food or the menu and would go back in a heartbeat.

It's very friendly and the food is very nice.... wish they opened before 4 and 5 pm.. Be good if they did a breakfast and lunch

Disappointed with the food. 3 meals not cooked 2 of which we said then the waitress came to get other burger.......they said would redo but waited too long and we had to say we didnt want. Could not fault the waitresses very nice.....and got money off bill. Thank you.

We were staying in the area and were told we would be better booking which we did for Sunday evening for 7 o clock what a disappointment we had we got our table then they asked if we would like a drink so myself and one of the drivers wanted coffee the other two asked for tea sorry was the reply they had a rush on in the afternoon never in my life have I heard such rubbish then we ordered our food I fancied the battered fish only to be told there wasn't any obviously they had a rush on with that as well ended up paying for the juice and water and leaving Not a very professional run business and would never go back E Golon

My Boyfriend and I had an evening meal here as we could walk back to our accommodation. Sadly disappointed with the service and food quality.

I picked a bottle of red wine, just an Australian Shiraz, we had to ask for a bottle opener and then we were asked to open it ourselves.

We ordered 10oz sirloin steaks, the cut of meat was poor, my medium-rare was correct but my Boyfriends Sirloin was thicker and it was most definitely rare and not the med-rare. The onion rings of which I had one and he had two, were burnt... during all this time there was no check-back. Despite staff walking past our table, our empty plates sat for 20 mins. When they were collected, we were not offered the sweet menu but we were asked how our meals were, we replied "ok", we were not pressed further. Including the pint my Boyfriend had, the bill was £60. One single course definitely not worth the price for the quality.
