Just a reminder access to shop is restricted, we would prefer wherever possible that you call ahead and make an appointment for service and repairs. It doesn’t matter if you personally only ever go to hospital once every few years with an injury. That 0.1% chance of hurting yourself during these next few months when multiplied by the 10’s of thousands of mountain bikers could mean hundreds of beds taken up by preventable injuries. Multiply that by the co...untless sports and hobbies in the UK that could cause an injury and you can see the issue!
Doctors in countries like Italy are literally having to decide who dies and who lives as there aren’t enough staff and beds to help everyone.
It doesn’t mean you can’t ride bikes. We just have to be sensible, ride well within limits and stick to less risky mellow trails. It sounds crazy but our actions during this time can literally cause people to die.

As mentioned this morning bike shops are permitted to remain open as bikes are seen as a form of transport for essential workers and also a healthy activity to undertake once a day. Our current position is to make ourselves available 10.30 until 16.00 Tues to Fri for servicing and repairs and the provision of essential parts and accessories. Please note we are operating this on a pre-arranged basis, access to the shop is restricted, just turning up at the shop is heavily disc...ouraged. We will go through the safety precautions at booking. We can offer mail order and many of our suppliers can ship direct to customer so no need to visit the shop. So currently bike shops are being allowed to open. We are working on a plan to try and stay open to service our local community albeit in a limited capacity. We will confirm our position later today. @bcsuspension

We know how valuable cycling is for the mind and soul, especially at times like these..... We will endeavour to be in the shop to help you out 😎 It means limiting visitors to the shop - maybe even working by appointment or by courier only - keeping a safe distance and lots of cleaning. So far we count ourselves lucky to still be operating as normal and following our regular hours. Along with our suspension service department our workshop is operating as normal, albeit with some extra safety precautions. Happy for bikes to be brought to the shop or we can arrange collection. Hire bikes are available regular and electric, cycling is recognised as a safe activity and good for your physical and mental health, just do it responsibly. We are being responsible and urge you to be so too. Also where you can, please support your local businesses, they need you at times like these, they are struggling. I hope this video makes it through to the powers that be. How can we properly support the people at risk from this virus if business and the economy is on its knees. No one seams to be commenting on the death toll and extra burden on the health service that will arise with mass unemployment and major recession. Maybe I am missing something but does it not make more sense to put our efforts into protecting the vulnerable in our community and the rest of us who are healthy and can fight this disease continue to keep the country running as close to normal as possible.
