Battlefield Bakery & The Duke’S Deli Description

The Battlefield Bakery is situated on the grounds of the “Battle of Drumclog, ” which was a victory for the Covenanters and is now the site of a young enterprising business embarking on its first year of trading.

Located on the Ayrshire /Lanarkshire border the Anderson family have converted an outbuilding into a manufacturing bakery unit where mother and son team, Battle in the Bakery to produce a range of farm house style bread based products as well as biscuits, preserves and sweet treats. Using recipes handed down through generations, we will bring a true taste of the Scottish countryside to you - “Baking is in our Blood”.

Stuart, twenty years old, is the family’s fourth generation of baking enthusiasts who has been baking in both of his granny’s kitchens from the young age of two and has specialised in bread making at the Blair Atholl Watermill Bakery & Tearoom, where he made his first TV appearance on ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery. He looks forward to showcasing his family’s recipes to a wider audience using local quality ingredients.

Produce will initially be available at Ayrshire Farmers Markets and it is hoped in the near future to have a retail outlet in a nearby town for you to taste our range of bakes.
