Bay Great Western Hotel

Booked with Shearings as it was going to be a little break at a good price.. It is just that.. lovely Staff, well organised , warm , good food, varied menu.. excellent choice. My room was basic but comfortable and a decent size for a single..to sit at a nice chair and table by my window over looking the Sea, with a cuppa first thing in tbe morning was a nice relaxing thing to do.. (lots of other Hotels have pokey Single rooms !)
The bathroom had been upgraded ..again basic but.. very nice.
Comfy bed with clean sheets, fluffy whiteTowels.
The fact that it is a very old Victorian Hotel must bring with it a massive budget necessary to keep it fresh.. I think in general this Hotel has managed to rejuvenate with some contemporary ideas and decor. There is still some to do.. but Rome wasn't built in a day and I also think that people's expectations far outweigh what they would be prepared to pay if it was 5***** !! You get what you pay for .. and this was fabulous for my money.. Thankyou so much for a lovely Holiday... in the words of "Arnie".."I'll be back !!"

Normal shearings quality, excellent hotel for siteseing.

Most of the tourists cram into small coffee shops. When this place is bright and airy with views of the bay

Nice views from front rooms.
Not very disabled friendly as steep stairs at entrance. Lift access to floors. Tend to be older age group who visit.

Good sea view hotel, bit old but clean with nice staff. Ideal location. Strict meal times.

Good value for money. Food very good. Visited here twice. Will definately be back.

An old fashioned building in need of updating but the service and all the staff are fantastic. We stayed for Christmas and the food was excellent. The restaurant staff were fantastic and went out of their way to give great service.

Lovely hotel. Excellent service, good food, comfortable room. Enjoyed the stay with my husband.
