About Bcdc Development Trust

Barmulloch Community Development Company (BCDC) is a local organisation run by local volunteers representing and assisting your community. It is a Registered Charity and is incorporated at Companies House. It has a constitution, known as the Memorandum and Articles of Association which sets out rules for its volunteers to follow on membership, recruitment, appointment of Directors, appointment of office bearers and conduct of meetings such as regular Board meetings, Annual General Meeting, financial management and financial reporting.

In addition to the Memo and Arts document, BCDC also has a Code of Conduct for all board members and a Governance Officer whose duty is to ensure the Company and its Directors act in accordance with legal requirements and in the interests of the community it represents.

The Company maintains a list of members of the Company, who pay £1 annually for membership. The BCDC Board has 16 members who are regarded as Directors. All are unpaid volunteers who meet on the second Thursday of each month to consider, discuss and make decisions on your behalf. A small number of sub-committees and an Executive Board also meet regularly and report to the main Board. The Executive Board consists of the Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Treasurer and Development Officer.
