Welcome to Bearsden Golf Club. Just 5 miles from Glasgow city centre, we value our location on the edge of the countryside, where you can enjoy both the pleasures of life, and golf, whether you are one of our members, or a visitor.
Bearsden Golf Club Description
Founded in 1891, Bearsden Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs on the North side of Glasgow.
Enjoying a reputation for friendliness and golfing inclusiveness, the club has in recent years concluded one of the most important periods in its history with a new clubhouse having been built and extensive drainage and other course improvement work having been undertaken.
Our course is unique in the area being basically 9 holes but with 7 alternate greens. A 9 hole course may be viewed in some quarters as a disadvantage but the current thinking of the sport's governing bodies is that there is a need for more 9 hole courses to be built. This thinking is influenced in part by the pressures of modern living which militate against the playing of time consuming 18 hole rounds in favour of faster play 9 hole courses, reducing the time needed to participate in the sport.
With a Standard Scratch Score of 69 our course is arguably the most challenging test in the Bearsden and Milngavie area.
We have recently extended our facilities with a new short game practice area.
Various competitions for all abilities take place throughout the year with the major period of competitive play running from April to September. The relevant details are noted in an annual fixture diary issued to members and further details will be displayed on the club notice boards and our website and these Facebook pages.

Photos from the Quiz Night a week last Friday. Great job by our resident Quiz Inquisitor, Andy Tarbet. The winning team didn't manage to pick the 'Money' envelope - they got a bottle of bubbly instead. The £60 prize fund rolls over to the next Quiz Night on Friday 28th February 2020 when the winning team will get the chance to win £120!!!

A great night at Gents' Prizegiving last Friday.
Great day at the Junior Prizegiving on Sunday afternoon. Fantastic Sunday Roast provided by Madeleine. Great service by Margaret and Megan at the bar. Smart turnout by all our Junior prizewinners. They do the Club proud. Ewen presenting the prizes provided great inspiration and encouragement to all the Juniors.... Daft questions and fun prizes. Great Family Night at Bearsden Golf Club on Friday.
