I bought over £2,500 of patio slabs from Beatons. Before ordering, I tried to get Marshalls to tell me how much prime slurry I needed for them but no one replied. I was not able to find the data sheet on the website.
Consequently, I had to take a guess and place my order. I ordered 2 x 20kg bags.
However, after taking delivery, I managed to get Beatons to send me a data sheetk, from which I saw that I needed twice as much slurry prime than I ordered.
I contacted Beatons to order this and I was told I would have to pay £70 carriage for this £67 order for 2 more 20kg bags.
I appealed, reminding Beatons that this additional order was only necessary because Marshalls did not respond to my enquiry and I could not find a daya sheet on line (not easy t do). Beatons were unmoved and insisted I must pay the £70 carriage – this after just having placed an order for over £2,500 with them and needing to place a similar order in the not too distant future.
Anyway, I instead found exactly the same Ultra Scape slurry prime in my local Jewsons at £10 per 20kg bag on special offer, instead of £34 each plus £70 carriage from Beatons...
