A wee shout out to Damien Duff from Celtic who was in for some lunch. Clearly he had some fans in today, but was so nice & happy to do selfies with them, he was a great sport. Thank you Damien

We have a very special day on Monday. We are working in partnership with the Woodland Trust & Balfron High School we will be planting 310 saplings in our wildlife garden. Over the years we have had to take down some dangerous trees so now we are getting the opportunity to re-plant the area. This will help the wildlife in our garden as well as the environment. Some of the pupils from Balfron High School will be here at 11am till 1pm on Monday. If any of you want to come along & lend a hand you are more than welcome - just bring your gardening tools & you can plant a tree in memory of someone so you can visit it in the future.

We walked here today and everything about the pub was fabulous. The food was amazing and so reasonably priced. I am reliably told the Guinness was fantastic and the play area outside is better than most parks. Lovely staff and all together a great place. We will be back very soon.

User

On Wednesday evening, 2nd July 2017, my wife and I along with my Dad decided to have a meal at the Beech Tree Inn. When we arrived, we were greeted by Anne and then shown to our table. Within one minute of being seated our drinks order was taken. While the drinks were being sorted out, it gave us a chance to look at the menu. On choosing what were going to have, our order was taken; this was within 5 minutes of being seated. When our meals were placed on the table, my first words were, ā€œdo we eat or climb itā€ The portion sizes are fantastic. My Dad and I had Fish and chips and my wife had The Tree Burger, which could have fed two people, all our meals were piping hot and on hot plates. After our meal, I spoke with Anne and asked her if I might speak with the duty Chef to allow me to compliment them on their standard of cuisine. I was told by Anne that the duty Chef was the owner. On meeting the owner and explaining to her how delighted we were with our meals, I dropped the bombshell, that, she had cooked for another Chef. Chefs donā€™t like cooking for other Chefs. I would certainly go back to The Beech Tree Inn again and would recommend it to anyone walking The West Highland Way. I would recommend The Beech Tree Inn to everybody.

Myself and 4 friends Stopped of at Beech tree for a little coffee and hot Chocolate yesterday All the staff were lovely and although they were busy they still took there time to spend time and have a chat. Good customer service.

The lady behind the bar and I were talking about the challenge I am taking on in June Cateran Yomp 54 miles in 24 hours.

Certainly be back.

My first visit here and definitely won't be the last, the food was superb I had the chicken and mushroom crepe and it was delicious, the staff were very friendly and made a fuss of my 3yr old Grandson, the outside area is very child friendly and a plus is getting to feed the ļæ½ which he loved, well all rounded establishment.

User

Great food and service even although the place was very busy as it was a lovely sunny day. We dined outside and the atmosphere was great.. The staff were excellent and we couldnā€™t fault anything. The small farm which has pygmy goats and ducks certainly keep the kids amused and for 50p you can also buy food for the animals ... 10 our of 10 !!

User

Been twice and loved it both times. Staff very helpful and attentive. Food lovely and kids eat free deal is great. Love that it's so child friendly. We had the table in the snug so kids played with the toys then had great fun playing outside and feeding the animals. Look forward to coming back again soon. Thanks again ļæ½ļæ½

I like the Beech Tree Inn. Friendly staff and nice enough food. I've been visiting here for many years and have spent a good amount of cash but sadly, not any more because in July 17 we got a wee dog and they don't let dogs inside...

Now, there is a lovely outdoor seating area to eat where you can sit with your furry friend and that's fantastic when it's summer (some days) however today it was a -2Ā° January day!!! After a long walk in the snow a wee hot plate of soup and a nice main would've been lovely but not if you have to sit outside.

Now I'm aware not everyone wants to eat beside doggies but surely given your location (on the west highland way) you could create a more enclosed outdoor seating area where hot food could be consumed comfortably in winter? Maybe in the winter months a patio heater?? Sadly we will have to find somewhere else to spend our hard earned cash ļæ½

User

First visit and thoroughly enjoyed it. When the kids eat without fuss (& for free) and Mum and Dad enjoy their food thatā€™s a good place in my book.

Add to that the outside space with the animals and play area and weā€™ll definitely be back!

User

5* for Beautiful location, great place for kids too, we sat outside with our dog which was a bonus ļæ½ Downside would have to be the food, i had steak & ale pie, steak was very chewy, puff pastry was good size but tasted like cardboard.

User

Used to love coming here with the kids and my dogs all the time. I just feel this last year the service and quality of food has really let the place down. Doubt we will be back.

User

Only rated 2 stars as I like the play area, animals & only 50p for a bag or basket of food to feed the animals. If it wasn't for this would be rated 1.

Food over priced for the quality. Ate here 3 times now & twice I've said I won't be back!

Poor customer service & could be more considerate for families. Wouldn't sit us in the snug where the toys were when I went with my 2 children but sat us in the worst table possible for families, right next to the open kitchen which has no door. Also staff coming & going with hot food with children near who didn't have much to keep them occupied. Gave the kids menus, 1 which was drawn all over & should have been binned. The snug is only next to the bar so I don't understand why they didn't sit us there like I requested. Would have been a lot safer & more pleasant for the children. Had customer service issues on previous occasions too.

Shame about the food & service as its good to take the kids too for a play & to feed the animals.

User

Only 2 star review here as the play area and animals are great for the kids. This was our second time visiting the Beech tree inn and I really donā€™t think weā€™ll be back. The food wasnā€™t good at all - prices are crazy for the quality.

Fine to go for a drink but iā€™d not eat here or recommend it again. Such a shame, very disappointed.

User

Great location, good service, terrible food. Two burgers from our table were raw, mac n cheese was lukewarm, veg was well undercooked.

User

Food and service was terrible, soup cold had to send it back were not given spoons to eat it had go and ask, platter was inedible, plenty of staff on but didn't seem to have basic service training. Will not be back would suggest customer care training and a chef that can actually cook.

User

Definitely won't be back. Have been coming here for over 35 years. NEVER have I experienced such poor quality food or customer service in my life. A BIG disappointment. 2 hrs to wait for food. When our mains eventually came the chips were cold, the chicken bland and My Daughter's Bruschetta of goats cheese and peppers was indescribable.

Used to recommend this place but won't be ftom now on.

To take your order and your money and then slip in it'll be a 2 hr wait is a poor show.

User

Been coming here for years but unfortunately today will possibly be my last. Something absolutely has to be done about how to order drinks and food outside. The queue was out the door and one person (who seems to want to control everything) on a till taking orders and making drinks is what is really letting you down. Donā€™t get me started on the manner said person on till speaks to staff in front of customers. I waited in a queue for 25 mins, almost got served then my daughter had an accident outside so I had to leave the queue and tend to her. When I came back in I was told I had to return to the end of the queue. Which I did but I kept on walking, took my family elsewhere for lunch. Poor set up, bad customer service and just generally manic.
