Servers were nice although was very slow for a quiet day. Restaurant was cold with a few tables sitting with jackets on including me as I was sat under a vent with cold air coming in. Food was average. 2 people at my table ordered the cheese burger and the sauce caused a reaction in our mouths, possibly chili or something in it but both had reaction at the same time. Starters and desserts were of a better standard. Not a place I would rush back to unfortunately.

Excellent food and staff very friendly. Would recommend it. Will definitely be back.

As you'd expect from a large chain restaurant. The food is good and arrives very quickly... decent selection and plenty of space both inside and out. Few benches etc. outside for when (if) the weather's good. You can eat and drink out there, however, there may be people smoking in close proximity.

The food is good and it's a nice interior. Unfortunately on 2 occasions when taking my car club here we have had a very rude and unhelpful waitress who seems to believe that any small request is a massive hassle and not what she's paid for.

Somehow, Beefeater seem to keep me interested in their food, time after time.
Even though I have eaten at 30+ of them, they have enough choice to keep me going, but first and foremost it's the quality that keeps me coming back and the Black Bear was no different.

The steaks are sublime, perfectly cooked and the sides are of equal quality.
One of the nights I thought, no steak, let's try a salad...WOW!!! Superb!!

Beefeaters seem to have it just right and long may they continue doing so with me as a customer.

Staff were nice and the decor of the place was nice and inviting. Ordered myself beer battered fish chips and mushy peas and the other half ordered beef and cheddar pie with mash and green beans. The meals came and to be honest was quite disappointed. The fish was nice but it wasn't beer battered as it said in the menu and my other half didn't particularly like the beef pie as it was suet pasty. Only thing that was really good was the desserts afterwards. Would come again but it would of been nice to get what we had ordered.
