The spaghetti bolognese tasted like tinned Heinz 'spaghetti bolognese'. Disgusting, hardly ate any of the meat, just the pasta. Highly recommend giving this place a miss.

When I called to make my reservation for the evening the woman on the phone seemed blunt and rude and didn't ask how many people were to be seated, only my name then hung up.
Things improved when we arrived, we were immediately greeted and seated by the server and first impressions of the place were good, it looked nice, sophisticated and had a nice atmosphere.
We were the only people in the restaurant and this was an issue because there were about 4 servers walking about aimlessly and although I know they had good intentions, I can fill up my own wineglass! It seemed like they were walking about idle, doing things to pass the time. Often huddled around the bar chatting!
When the food arrived it looked incredibly nice and again sophisticated, and as we ate my partner noticed that she had sausage in her penne pommodoro, which was listed as an optional item to the dish. And as a vegan was upset about this as you can imagine. When I raised this with the server she very rudely said:"so you don't like the pasta!?" (I recognised the voice from the phone) she then explained that it was our fault for not telling her!! we did however receive a free vegan replacement and a free shot at the time of leaving.
It's a nice place with a nice decor, however I will not be returning as both myself and my partner felt very ill afterwards and were appalled by the service provided.

Fantastic meal 4 adults and 2 kids all special requests catered for.

I would highly recommend mend this restaurant for the quality of the food, the very extensive menu, the friendliness of the staff and the willingness of the chef to cater for even the smallest request.

In my opinion one of the finest traditional Italian restaurants in Scotland.
