Just a quick reminder that training fees are due tomorrow night (4th of June). As this is a shorter block of classes due to holidays the fees will be £18.00. Our last class will be on Tuesday the 2nd of July, we will be on holiday for 4 weeks, starting back on Tuesday the 6th of August.

Congratulations to everyone who passed their test last night!

Well done to all the dogs and handlers who managed to pass their test last night. The hot weather made conditions very uncomfortable for dogs, handlers and examiners alike, but we all did our best to soldier on. 🌞 🥵
We had 13 dogs sitting a test and we had 6 passes, which is really good considering how warm it was in the hall.
For those who didn’t quite get there please try not to be too disappointed as you’ll get another opportunity on the next test night when hopefully conditions will be better.

Just a quick reminder that there’s no training classes this week (Tuesday 14th of May) as we are having a test night. All members are invited to come along to observe. No dogs allowed unless they are sitting a test. Doors will open at 6.15 and the tests will begin at 7pm so please make sure you come early enough to get some practice if required. Everyone should be in the hall no later than 6.45pm unless advised otherwise.... Tea and refreshments will be provided. ☕️🥤🥪🧁🍰

Buddy wasn’t very pleased with me tonight as I didn’t put a photo of him with his Rosette and certificate, along with all his friends, after passing his intermediate test on Tuesday the 9th of October. 😐 So sorry Buddy, I’ll give you extra hotdogs next week..... 😆 Here’s a photo of the handsome boy with his handler Liz.

Sorry for not posting test night results sooner, but my internet connection has been playing up.
I’m sure everyone who attended on Tuesday night will agree that it was a fantastic night and everyone did so well. We had 12 passes out of 15 taking part in the test, which is an excellent result. Well done to everyone for all the work you put in with your fantastic dogs. All the trainers are so proud of you all, we might even be nicer to you for a few weeks! Thanks to everyone w...ho helped with the organisation and the catering and a big thank you to our guest examiner, Sandra.

The trainers at this club are all volunteers and give their time freely for this club. A lot of work goes on unseen by most members and continues long after Tuesday night training classes are finished, with administrative work and planning etc. We also attend regular training seminars in our own time to keep up to date with modern training practices.
In the past we have endeavoured to help lots of people with dogs who have behaviour issues, but we are not qualified behaviouri...sts,and have never claimed to be.
Although we have a lot of knowledge about dog behaviour,and we have had a lot of success in helping a large number of handlers with their dogs behaviour problems over the years, we know our limitations and we refer them to a highly qualified behaviourist when necessary.
We have decided that we will no longer be able to accept dogs with behaviour issues at our club, because as successful as we’ve been with the majority of them, they take a lot of our time, and need lots of individual attention, and they can be unfairly disruptive to the other dogs in the class.
Our classes are aimed at pet owners who want to have sociable,well mannered happy dogs. If you want open obedience (Crufts standard) theses classes are not for you!
Group classes are not suitable for all dogs, some will do better in much smaller groups or one to one training that we cannot provide!
