About Bemersyde Fishing
This beat combines excellent fishing with the most stunning location on the whole river. Here the river loops past the Eildon Hills in a beautiful wooded gorge giving fishers complete seclusion from the outside world. The stretch is one mile long, with two-thirds of it double bank fishing, and provides some most interesting quality fishing, with a pool or stream for every height of water.
There is an excellent hut in an idyllic situation on the middle beat for the use of all the rods, and there are four boats, two for fishing and two for ferrying from bank to bank. Access is by car down a private track to a small parking area about 100ft above the rod hut. From there the path is too steep for vehicles and you have to walk the remaining short distance.
Until 14th September one gillie is employed and four rods are let, some by the day and others on a syndicate basis (giving a regular one day each week, contact Ian Farr for details). From 16th September, six rods are let on a weekly basis with two ghillies provided. During this period, the beat is split into three, with rods fishing in pairs and rotating on an am /pm basis.
Please note Bouyancy Aids are available on request. The Owners accept no liability arising from your failure to wear one.

Calling all Scottish anglers - was your member of parliament listening to Rachel Hamilton today highlighting the downturn in salmon numbers etc. This really is worth watching. Please ask your local MP in Scotland why they were not there?

Salmon stocks decline debate at the Scottish Parliment on 4th April 12.45. Secured by Rachel Hamilton. Hopefully something worthwhile is done to protect Salmon Stocks and the greater economy that depends on them!

Farr Side to 25th March 2019
Slightly disappointing week after the big floods, I was expecting some more fish to be showing in the river. Water was big at the beginning of the week but had dropped down to 1 foot 10 by the Friday. Small 2 inch rise by Saturday morning but was falling off all day. It’s been a bit windy some days so doesn’t help the fly fishing boys and girls. I saw 2 fish down Woodside on Thursday afternoon.
Monday 25th we have blue sky with a bite in the wind, 1 foot 6 of water and clear, still looking for the first fish, it should come this week as the river will fish well.
