Proud mummy frog with her spawn in Glen Nevis yesterday, Spring has arrived :)
Hope to see everyone here for some family fun in the Glen shortly :)
More beautiful sunshine here in the Glen, pic taken up at Steall carpark looking back down the glen, glorious blue skies :) (picture credit Jamie Hail)
Utterly stunning day on Ben Nevis yesterday :)
Nothing but blue skies, glorious sunshine and stunning views, no reason why anyone wouldn't want to get out and enjoy the nice weather in the glen today :)
This event is back by popular demand. Free microchipping from dogs trust will be in Glen Nevis just outside the centre on Wednesday 16th March between 12-4pm Then over in Caol Community Centre on Thursday 17th March 3-6pm
Some blue sky today and sunshine looking over the mamores at the bottom of Glen Nevis. Lovely day to be out walking enjoying the dry spell :)
Nice break in the bad weather recently...just reminds us all why we put up with the rain for days and views like this :)
Photo by Mike Conway in Glen Nevis....don't forget to be feeding the birds this cold winter......follow the RSPB who are running the largest ever garden bird survey this January at https://ww2.rspb.org.uk/discoverandenjoyn ature/…/birdwatch/…
Thank you so much for keeping our little boy’s two precious toys safe overnight. You made him very happy when he got them back this morning!
Staff in the shop so helpfull just before we went up big ben. Dude on reception explained the weather. The route. And showed us on the map where things was and compass bearings. Made our first time experience easier. Thank you.
Nice
I have climbed Ben Nevis three times where on each occasion there are unique beautiful views at the summit. When you reach the top, you really don't want to come down ! For those not up to the climb, visit the Steall Falls which is an easier trek, but also a rewarding sight. I hope to go again to see "Big Ben".
Great day out with the grandkids, plenty to do to keep them entertained, even if it was watching their mother being terrified in the gondola
Brilliant people who run the center and full of knowledge, they even sent out a medal for my son and our dog who climb the Ben - Thanks again!!
There was some building work taking place when I visited, but the temp. building was still good and the staff were excellent.
Thank you so much for all your advice and also the magazines, pencils and bookmarks for the children. They loved the tree trail and we walked to the Nevis Inn for a great meal. Great job also advising walkers on the conditions on the Ben!
Nice place with good variety of hot drinks cakes and food. Clean toilets and friendly staff
Best to check in advance about the gondolas as they are often shut down due to high winds. But got all the information needed. If you are planning on mountain biking, I'd recommend downloading an offline map if possible as the map they have can be quite confusing.
Started our walk at 8am, there wasn’t any toilets open .
The day was amazing and loved the climb
Poorly organised parking machines not working. Notice say go to Visitors Centre, there were two one closed, open one not well sign posted, no Notice advising on cost. Not very helpful walked miles just trying to get a ticket.
One thing that i didint liked. Once we get down from mountain. As i wasnt keen to do my toilet things up the hill, waited so long to get to the toilet at visitor centre, but it was already locked. That was around 8-9pm. I think public toilets should be open 24/7.
Good to be able to relax there after being on the mountain for 10 hrs. Having a cuppa waiting for us on our return would have been better!
Good information and hot drinks available. Changing rooms and showers would be a massive help and make it alot better
Good centre offering useful kit and info. BUT, heavily let down by the disinterested young woman working there. We came in to review our plans, check weather and ensure we had the necessary skills. Sadly she didn't want to discuss the mountain, conditions or our capability. What a shame- I thought this was the purpose of the visitor centre!
Was due to open June and still closed thankfully we didn't need any advise as portakabin didn't open till 9 am either!!
Staff at glen nevis campsite amazing and gave good advice
This was my first time visiting this Centre. I have had a previous fantastic experience at Killoughtree as a Wheelchair user so I expected at least a satisfactory experience. I used the Accessible toilets and what a disgrace they were. The smell of the bin was horrendous. It took a long time to be noticed at the temporary Visitor Hut to raise my concern and I didn't get a satisfactory solution or apology.
Just back from climbing Ben nevis we didn't park in glen nevis visitor centre car park as they rip off motorhomes by charging 10.00 to park and only 3.00 for cars even though we can fit into a car space.
