Benthic Systems Yacht Survey

Sail-Yacht surveys. I bring my professional experience, qualifications and techniques, notably working with leading International Warranty bodies such as DNV-GL, Bureau Veritas, London Offshore and Global Maritime, to my private survey work. My professional background is in Diving and SubSea. I live aboard a 50' sailboat, am a Yachtmaster and have worked offshore for 24-years so know yachting better than most. Unlike most surveyors, I will cover sails, rigging and engines if required as I have experience of Diesel Rebuilds from single cylinder BUKH's up to 1, 570Hp hydraulic-jet drives. I go up the mast and go under the hull. I also offer Corrosion Protection assessment and measurements if the vessel is in-water; a service no other surveyor provides. This includes impressed-current protection systems. If you intend to purchase or sell, I can personally take my clients through features that need to addressed, safety (Including life rafts) before reporting and include photographs for clients. If your survey is to obtain finance, claim insurance or for piece-of-mind from another independent source I provide more than a simple dry checklist. I consult and discuss prior to report issuance to be as helpful as possible and don't take the "I know better than you" line so if you are new to sailing and your boat I'll be able to explain and instill confidence. My surveys address the basic questions of seaworthiness for what the vessel is to be used for, they are not just a straight checklist of national regulations. For Commercial Companies requiring an independent MWS, my specialisms are in DSV, ROVSV and PLV vessels and operations. Familiar with current IMCA, IMO, SOLAS et-al regulations and various classification society codes for these, I also cover MOPU's and FPSO's and have experience auditor and surveyor of their systems and projects, including dive systems, incident and deepwater work, rig moves (JUDV and MOPU), anchoring and DP.
