First day of the shutdown: 8.30am and I’ve got an 80-something year old on the phone in tears because they can’t place their essential food order within the priority timeframe for the elderly and there’s no one else nearby to help. It’s a 2 minute fix but unsuccessful in trying to resolve over the phone. Creative support using the wonderful invention of the letterbox, some gloves and makeshift sign language through the window to communicate! Come on people, check on those around you. Now isn’t the time to be scared of causing offence or embarrassment. It doesn’t have to get worse if we don’t let it!
