About Biggar Museum Trust

The Biggar and Upper Clydesdale Museum explores 14, 000 years of rural and small town life in Upper Clydesdale. It focuses on the people who have lived and worked here from prehistoric times up to the mid-20th century. Our mission statement: 'To preserve and interpret the historic heritage of Biggar and the Upper Ward of Clydesdale'. The vision of Biggar Museum Trust is upheld by the following five aims: 1. To collect, store, preserve and record the historic heritage of the area2. To provide an educational and enjoyable experience for all ages3. To make the collection and archive as accessible to as many people as possible4. To act as one of the focal points for local community endeavour5.
