Hi folks, Here is the first of many questions i am going to be asking regarding the development of my nova. What are the biggest/best front brakes of another vauxhall that will fit and change of master cylinder ( if necessary ) and what alloy rims would i need to fit - 15" ET width etc wheel nuts/studs ? cheers bill.

1389 x14xe16v, standard rods and pistons, reprofiled standard cams, single valve springs, modified standard hydraulic lifters, lightened flywheel, on carbs and ashley exhaust revving to 8000rpm. Christopher bought it off me in 2013 and i think all he has done to it is fit new big end shells as a precaution

Hi folks, Here we have my latest toy, i'm not sure what i'm going to do with it as yet, but it might have something to do with sequential gearboxes and high revving engines, but i need to sell some clubman engines to fund it. A big thanks to Kev for giving up most of his saturday to pick it up and bring it to me - it's much appreciated. Cheers Bill

Hi folks I can supply pairs of reprofiled cams with 20 solid lifter shims for the 1400 and 1600 16v vauxhall engines.
I can grind profiles from my clubman spec. up to full race, the same as i use on my own engines.
... *They are exchange*.
A standard inlet and exhaust can be used for the clubman profiles but 2 inlets are needed for bigger profiles . I can modify your hydraulic lifters to solid and is included in the price.
The tappet shims can be machined on a lathe.
£300 for a pair of cams exchange, 20 shims and modify your followers. plus postage. ( should be around £10 )
I can supply valve spring kits with the cams if needed.
I also am able to supply fully modified ported cylinder heads.
Cams fitted and shimmed up - you would need to phone for details.
Cheers Bill

Hi folks, It's time to get the stocks back up for a winter's engine building. This week is it's been cam grinding and machining dozens of tappet shims.
Reprofiling the standard inlet and exhaust cams for the small block 1400, 1600 and 1800 vauxhall 16v.
... 7 pairs of clubman spec. cams, they are solid lifter profiles to be used with the standard pistons with valve relief cutouts machined into them.
They use the hydraulic followers modified to solid and the valve clearances set with machinable top hat tappet shims.
They are used with single valve springs and the standard retainer and platform - safe to 8000rpm.
Also 3 pairs of tarmac rally/race solid lifter profiles to be used with forged pistons and a double valve spring kit.
The cams are checked on my cam doctor for accuracy.
I can machine the valve cutouts in the standard pistons and supply shims to be used with the clubman and race cams.
To machine cutouts in the pistons £150 To supply a pair of cams and 20 shims and modify 16 lifters to solid £300. Valve springs and arp big end bolts can be supplied with the cams and piston mods.

Hi folks, As promised here are some pics of the finished manifolds. I managed to cast eight before running out of donor wheels. They will be ported onto my modified cylinder heads with the welded up and reshaped ports. They will be used with 40,42 or 45mm throttle bodies depending on the size of the engine and state of tune.... cheers Bill

Hi folks This week i will be mostly casting inlet manifolds in my state of the art fully automated specially built foundry. The manifolds are for my engines with throttle bodies. It takes about an hour and a half to melt the aluminium, prepare the mold and do the pour. The two manifolds you see were a laguna alloy wheel the other day.... I am hoping to do ten unless i run out of materials or steam. I'll post some more pics when i have them all machined. Cheers Bill

Hi folks, I have for sale an 1840cc small block engine that i built recently and have tested on my dyno and it is producing 232 horsepower and 178 lbft of torque. It is based on an oversize 16xe. The spec. includes - Sainz steel rods.... cp racing pistons with total seal gapless compression rings. ceramic coated pistons and valves. lightened, balanced flywheel. race cams. double valve springs. solid lifters. 45mm throttle bodies on one of my manifolds. mbe 9A4 ecu. custom loom. Along with all the other modifications and ancillaries do to improve the performance and reliability. For more information please give me a call. Cheers Bill

Hi folks Yes another baffling advert. This one is about sumps and baffles.
I have been trying to improve the performance of the standard alloy sump to minimize oil surge and windage.
... The base sump i have been using is the later type with the single windage tray/baffle and with or without the oil level sensor which in its standard form is no good for competition use, but this sump does not use a gasket but is sealed to the block with rtv silicon making a better oil tight seal.
I have made up 2 levels of baffling, one has a close fitting lower baffle bolted to the sump pan and used along with the upper full length windage tray making a worthwhile improvement - see first 3 photos.
The other set up is as much as i can do to improve the standard sump short of going for a full dry sump setup.
It uses gated vertical baffles along with a full length horizontal baffle with windage scrapers. The fitment has 3 compartments, the centre one with the pickup pipe has 2 gates to only allow oil into it and as you corner left or right that gate closes and stops the oil surging away from the pickup pipe- see photos.
The idea would be to send your sump and pick up pipe and dip stick, i will chemically clean them, make provision for an oil temperature sensor, modify the sump, sand blast, pressure wash, paint and assemble with the baffles ready to fit to your engine. The simple baffle setup is £100 + postage. The full setup is £300 + postage. Feel free to phone with questions.

Hi folks I have for sale on an exchange basis lightened and balanced flywheels for the 1400, 1600 and 1800 small block vauxhall engines. These flywheels take the standard clutch or the helix 60-3838 heavy duty cover and 4 paddle plate. The flywheels have a casting number 90232334. For exchange the flywheel must be fresh and in good condition with no heat cracks.... The flywheels are £100 exchange + postage. Cheers Bill

Hi folks I have for sale on an exchange basis - Modified Cam Covers. Both the earlier square top and the later rounded top covers. They have been altered to very effectively prevent oil from being vented from the breather. No other engine modifications are required, just bolt them on.
... They work in a totally different way from the incredibly expensive catch tank recirculating type which require a series of pipes and welded bungs that do not solve the venting problem. It just fills up the catch tank on acceleration then drains back when you back off the throttle. You can still suffer from lack of oil in the sump and oil pressure problems.
My modified covers are finished in matt black - see photos. They have all the unnecessary brackets and outlets removed. They only require a large bore hose led into a free venting catch tank as per regulations. cost £100. cheers Bill

Hi folks I have some parts for the 1400 and 1600 16v for sale. I only have 5 sets of each. Steel crank sensor brackets with bolts £50 each. Solid tensioner centre, washer and bolt £40 each.... Coil bracket with bolts £30 each. Alternator lowering bracket, adjuster, bolts, pulley and belt £150 each. Ignition coil £32 each. Crank sensor £30 each. 2 - 1400 clubman engines with inlet manifolds and flywheels and 1 - 1600 clubman engine with inlet manifold and flywheel £3200 each.
To use the solid tensioner - punch the centre out of a standard tensioner to leave just the bearing. use it with the solid tensioner parts. you then adjust the cambelt by rotating the waterpump
The alternator lowering kit allows you to use carbs or throttle bodies without fouling. they come with either a 5 vee or 6 vee pulley depending on which crank pulley you are using. The pulleys are larger than the standard to stop the alternator over revving at high engine revs.
For more info on the engines please phone. cheers Bill
