About Bionet

Biology Network (BioNet) organises talks and events to facilitate networking for the postgraduate biology students of St Andrews University since 2009.

Bionet Description

BioNet was formed in the spring of 2009 to encourage communication between postgraduates from different research groups across multiple building in the School of Biology at St. Andrews.

The aim is not only to facilitate knowledge transfer through evening talks and educational events, but also socialisation between departments.

We aim to hold evening presentations approximately every 6weeks on a variety of topics; current research, masters projects, or even interesting papers.

These are an excellent opportunity for speakers to communicate their research and practice presenting in an informal and friendly environment. Attendees have the change to learn about other areas of biology as well as enjoy the snacks + refreshments put on at each event.

Talks are usually held on Thursday evenings.

Events are varied, including trips and workshops. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for regular updates!

And because socialisation is an essential part of the student experience, we also organise pub trips.
