Who remembers going on this dog walk ?

Tonight we have said goodbye to our beautiful girl Zoey. A fantastic gundog, mum, grand mum, great grand mum and much loved pet. I've never known a dog so loyal to one person, and what she lacked in size she made up for in personality. Perfectly obedient, her recall, retrieve and steadiness when working was a pleasure to watch - even if she did once show me right up at a scurry 😁 I loved (almost) every minute of her training, and watching her come from the back to be awarded a distinction (only dropping one point) and finish top in an award was a proud moment - especially as she was up against those ever steady Labrador thingies. The judge even made me an offer for her on the day. She leaves a legacy with her fantastic puppies and will always have a place in our hearts and we will always treasure the memories. ❤️

Look at this little beauty 😊

Jess is feeling a little sorry for herself at the moment.
She has been for a scale and polish and the vets and her teeth are now all shiny and clean
10 years old and didn't need any extractions 😊

Tricks you teach your dog.
Jess was taught to 'speak' from a very early age. She very very rarely barks so this was a difficult command for her to learn.
... She's now 10 but still puts a show on when you need her to 😊

She might not be the youngest of the bunch but she still knows how to retrieve.
Unfortunately today it was a rotting and putrid mole. What a stink - anyone lend her a toothbrush ?

I'm really sorry to say I have had to remove a post from the page. This is the post that refers to the rehoming of Arthur.
Circumstances change - Fact.
I know this family and this is the last thing they intended to do, they don't want to be in this situation but are putting their family first. This includes Arthur who I know we will find an incredible home for. I have always sought to find the best homes for all my puppies, and this is only the second rehome we have eve...r done but because of the change of circumstances I am happy to help.
This page is not the place to argue over the rights of wrongs of a situation relating to a puppy I am helping to find a nice home for. If you don't agree please feel free to click the unfollow button. 😑

This is Barney who will be 3 this year. Have a read of what he's been up to. Barney is a clever boy 😊
Hi Paul , Just a little update on Barneys progress at his scent recognition class. Praise all the way!
... Beyond thrilled with tonight's class 😀 The dogs have all been learning to find their own human's scent. Each search is tailored to the dog's particular level and my goodness have they been working hard!!!!. All our Nosey Parkers can find their own human's scent, but tonight we added distractions by putting out other human scented items too "" The dogs were amazing and not phased at all!! Janet & Dave Turner have been working on something special with Barney and he is now able to distinguish between both of his human's scents. We set out 6 boxes in a line. one had Janet's mouse in it and another one had Dave's mouse in it. We instructed them both to do a directed search but if Barney indicated on the "wrong mouse" they were to tell him he was a good boy but work him on, not letting him self reward by picking up the wrong mouse. Janet went first handling Barney , instructing him to "find Janet" He sniffed all the boxes but indicated on the box with "Janet" in it 😀😀😀 he gave no extra attention to the box with "Dave" in it 😀 Then they swapped handlers and Dave did the search but still asked Barney to "find Janet"...which he did!!! Finally Dave handled Barney again this time asking him to "find Dave".....guess what? ""

A lot of people have walked this before with us. Whatever the weather it's a nice peaceful, flat dog walk ideal for Springers. Woods, water and flat paths around 2.5 miles and the added bonus of a country pub nearby.

This was posted locally and isn't strictly true. It is not an offence unless your dog is out of control AND there is an apprehension your dog will injure any person.
There are laws protecting livestock which are separate from this but this only applies to places where livestock etc are.
Be safe - always keep your dog on a lead when in fields with livestock, or near roads as you can never be 100% sure of a recall BUT enjoy your off lead walks in appropriate places even if they don't do exactly what you want first time every time. It doesn't make them out of control just makes them a springer 😊

This is an area we walk in (Darwen) but don't recognise him. Worth a share.

These two haven't worked for quite a while. They will still hunt every inch of this reed patch.
I've always said to all my puppy owners that the single most important thing you can teach your dog is to come when called - this could save your dogs life.
I actually very rarely call my dogs to me as they bounce back and forth anyway but look how sharp they are coming back and wait even though they are clearly enjoying their hunt, and the best thing about it is that their tails are wagging like mad as they wait.
