Black Cat Tattoo Collective Description
We are a fully trained and insured studio providing custom tattoos, bespoke piercings and laser tattoo removal. Our service is based in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire and we pride ourselves on offering a safe, professional, friendly service at reasonable rates.

If you are going to book a tattoo with us, please read the following:
Our current rate for tattooing is £50 per hour. However we do have a minimum charge for small tattoos of £30.
If you would like to discuss your idea for a tattoo, the best way to liaise with an artist is by either messaging our Facebook page or by emailing info@blackcattattoo. co. uk. We will then look at your idea and let you know their thoughts. If you'd prefer to speak to someone in person please pop into the shop and speak to the front desk team, who will be happy to answer any queries you might have.
If you are booking a large tattoo, say upper outer arm, we’d advise you to book 6-12 hours depending upon the intricacy of the design. For a full sleeve or back piece we’d advise anywhere between 20 and 40 hours, with a minimum gap of 3 weeks in between sittings to allow healing.
We operate a booking system and the way our booking system works is we ask for a deposit to be paid at the time of the booking. Payment can be made by popping into the studio with cash, alternatively we can take a card payment over the phone or we can take a Paypal payment on our website www. blackcattattoo. co. uk. We also operate a 48-hour cancellation policy, if at any time you miss an appointment or cancel without enough notice you will lose that deposit and all subsequent appointments will be cancelled unless a new deposit is brought in.
We will work with you on your design to the best of our ability however our decision on artwork is final. We know what will work as a tattoo and what will look good. We have your best interests at heart so please respect us and listen to our advice. Good tattoos take time, if you want something quick and cheap please try somewhere else and we’ll see you in a few months for a cover up! !
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a tattoo before I’m 18 with parent’s consent?
It is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18, there is no such thing as parent’s consent when it comes to tattooing.
Does it hurt?
The pain is different for everybody, usually people are pleasantly surprised! Most describe it as a scratching pain. It is true some parts of the body are more painful than others, like the ribs.
How long will my tattoo take?
It depends on the design you have chosen, ask in the studio & we will try to give you a rough idea, but with larger scale work it’s not usually possible to say.
How much will my tattoo cost?
Again this depends on the design you have chosen. With small pieces we will be able to give you a finished price, however with larger pieces /sleeves its will just be done by the hour and we charge £50 per hour (minimum charge for small tattoos of £30). It’s impossible to tell you exactly how many hours something will take, where possible we will try to give you an estimated guide. For example, a full sleeve could take anywhere between 20-40 hours depending on the content.
How longs the waiting list?
Each of the artists has a different length wait, please come in to the studio with your ideas and we can let you know who would be best for your chosen design & their waiting times. Please don't be offended if your chosen artist recommends another member of the team, this is simply because they each have different styles of work and will be better suited to your design.
When will my design be drawn up?
Due to the artist’s workload, we will try to have your design available to you no later than 48 hours before your appointment, however this may vary. If you need to make any changes, we will endeavor to change them and re-submit them to you however in some cases this might not be possible and you may have to review your changes on the day of your tattoo. Please bear in mind that the artist will have drawn up the best piece possible from your reference images as they know what will work best.
LASER REMOVAL
As with the tattoos we operate a booking system. We ask for a deposit equivalent to 50% of your quoted session. This deposit is redeemable at your last laser session. We also operate a 48-hour cancellation policy for the laser removal.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING - DEPOSITS, CANCELLATION AND NON-ATTENDANCE.
INTRODUCTION
When we book an appointment for you, we commit that time and our resources to your treatment or tattoo. This means that, if anyone else wants to come at the same time, we will be unable to see them and we will have to offer them an alternative time. If you do not attend that appointment and either do not tell us in advance or give insufficient notice, we are unable to allocate the time to someone else; however during this unproductive time we still have overheads to pay.
For this reason, it is our policy to request a deposit from you.
DEPOSITS
We make appointments with the expectation that you will attend at the agreed date and time to undergo your treatment or tattoo. If you change your mind or work /other commitments prevent you from attending, we simply ask that you give us as much notice as possible so that we can reallocate your appointment slot to another customer. When booking your appointment, we will seek a deposit from you, payment of which is your commitment to attending that appointment. Your deposit will be taken, held and used against your last laser treatment or last tattoo session.

- £100 DEPOSIT FOR FULL DAY TATTOO SESSIONS
LASER REMOVAL PATCH TESTS AND CONSULTATIONS REMAIN FREE OF CHARGE AND ARE NOT SUBJECT TO DEPOSITS
APPOINTMENTS ARE NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL THE DEPOSIT HAS BEEN PAID. If you do not pay the deposit within the timescale you have agreed, we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and reallocate the time to another customer.
CANCELLATION
If you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason, then you should tell us as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours before the scheduled start time of that appointment. Providing you give notice of cancellation or postponement /amendment no later than these deadlines, your deposit will be transferable on to another booking. If not, then your deposit will be forfeited. Should you wish to cancel your appointment and not rebook your deposit is non-refundable. Should we cancel your appointment for any reason you have the right to request your deposit back.
NON-ATTENDANCE (including late cancellation)
If you do not attend your appointment, or cancel later than the deadlines shown above, your deposit will become non-refundable.
APPOINTMENT REMINDERS
Please note, that although we normally send text message reminders a day or two before appointments are due, the successful delivery of these relies on our text provider, your mobile network provider and your phone and therefore cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, you should not rely on our text message as the sole reminder of your appointment and we will not be responsible for any appointments missed as a result of non-delivery, regardless of the reasons for its failure.

Our client came to us wanting a tattoo for his calf and had a very rough idea of skulls etc. Stephen had a consultation with the clients and gathered all the information he could and put together a design with skull, rose and day of the dead girl. Came in today for a piercing, chanced my luck to see if I could get a walk in appointment, which I did! I had my ear pierced (my snug) and I was so impressed with how great the piercer was! He was so welcoming and really informative and put me completely at ease. The studio was Spotless and very relaxed (including the piercing room). Obviously the piercing itself was slightly painful but nothing compared to ones I’ve had previously! Over all I was extremely impressed and so glad I chose to come to black cat today!
