Our craft distillery in the hamlet of Blackford, Aberdeenshire, creates authentically Scottish spirits, inspired by Aberdeenshire’s landscape and heritage of the Picts

Nestled amongst the rolling hills of rural Aberdeenshire, Blackford Craft Distillery Ltd is a family run, micro distillery based out of a 19th century steading in Blackford, near Rothienorman, that produces premium, artisan, small batch spirits, which are inspired by the local landscape and Aberdeenshire's prehistoric past.

Vesperis is a botanical vodka, influenced by the heather mead brewed by the Picts. Distilled using organic wheat spirit, organic heather honey, wild harvested heather and seasonal organic apples.

As astronomers, the Picts observed the planets to track the seasons, carving the astronomical calendar onto standing stones. Vesper, Roman God od the Evening Starm is the planet Venus as it rises in the eveningm is the inspiration behind the name Vesperis.

As craft distillers, the family are proud of their handcrafted vodka. They select the ingredients, create the recipe and distill it; then fill, label and wax every bottle. Each bottle has a vintage, a batch, are uniquely numbered and signed, so no two are the same.

Distilled using the pioneering iStill, Vesperis is a premuim botanical spirit, as versatile as vodka and as on trend as gin. It can be sipped neat, enjoyed with tonic, or mixed to create a Pictish twist on cocktails.
