Before and after...or more accurately, there is nothing there afterwards. But nothing isn't as pretty.

User

Snow days are great in a warm bakery surrounded by pillows of soft, fragrant steaming loaves. But when we have hot fresh doughnuts as well....

Your cinnamon twists are soooooo delicious. I have loved all of Arran but they will be among the top of the reasons to return!!

User

What a treat! Called in this morning on the last day of our holiday on the island and wished we had called in on the first day. Really friendly and enthusiastic baker tempted us with almond croissants, cinnamon twists and a really tasty loaf of bread. We'll be back for sure on our next visit to Arran

User

This place is a real gem! If you haven't been there, make it a priority! Bread, pastries, flapjack and other sweet treats, what's not to love. The Focaccia is out of this world. Artisan baking at it's finest!

User

The best sourdough bread and croissants ever!

User

The best bread we have ever eaten and we bake our own! Emmer bread, Sourdough Baguette, Focaccia so far and will be trying more before we go home. The cakes are equally scrumptious, the Almond Sponge is to die for. Great to meet someone as passionate as George about baking.

User

Stopped in today on way round to kings cave. Oh my days the chocolate brownie and the almond croissants are so will be back for more soon

User

Just had a slice of the fabulous Stollen. Best I've ever tasted - delicious.

User

Just called in during a tour round the island and met George the Asian baker who is getting traction with his wonderful sourdough and specialty artisan breads. What's even more exciting is the one, possibly two words fitted ovens lurking in the back ground biding their time for when Arran slowly wakes up to the taste of slow fermented, natural leaven, hand made breads baked on the sole of a wood fired oven. Great enthusiasms for all things bread related. Real bread from a real baker.

Wonderful visit and very tasty bread.

User

Everything is so delicious!

User

Fantastic hidden gem. We gorged ourselves on chocolate brownies, salted caramel flapjacks and bread (I cant remember the name of)... would recommend anyone visiting Arran to make sure you visit. Simply gorgeous...

Called to pick up an order today and had to take a cinnamon roll for the journey back. It was still warm and I've never tasted anything so good! With crispy bits sticking to base. Could be tempted to collect orders every week just for the warm buns.

User

Called in today whilst on our way over to the Kings Cave, and bought a sourdough loaf. We also picked up two Almond croissant that are probably the best we have ever tasted. You must call in, very friendly, and a warm welcome.

An incredible baker with passion and magic in his hands. We drove back to our holiday cottage with bags full of warm bread and pastries, and it took all our strength not to stop and snaffle the lot! We will be back.

User

Amazing bakery. Super great to see sourdough on Arran! Loved the rhubarb tarts too! If you go to Arran, you MUST come here! I'll be back!

User

Almond croissants are the best, everything is amazing and fresh. Good coffee too which is a bonus. This bakery, the cheese, local butcher and how beautiful Arran is come rain or shine makes me count the days till can go back.

User

AMAZING! You have to visit this bakery! The most delicious artisanal breads and cakes - this is a gem of a bakery you would adore having close by to your home. We can only visit on holiday. The almond croissants are fantastic and we had another bake the next day, still warm from the oven, an orange syrup-soaked slice of brioche topped with toasted almonds (it has a name but I can't remember it....)

I would imagine everything tastes good from here! I've visited boulangeries and patisseries in France and Belgium and this surpasses them. Go and eat at Bake House Blackwaterfoot! (The staff are great and they even do great take out coffee to have with it!)
