Wonderful, helpful staff and a very relaxing atmosphere!!

When we travel I always like to bring home a book (or two or three) as a souvenir to our daughters. The young lady in the children's section (wish I could remember her name) was Awesome! Very patient as I asked about specific books for my 6 & 13 year old. She took time to listen to my wants and wasn't put out when I would change my mind since there were so many options. The store is very well laid out and it was easy to find books by Scottish authors or about Scotland/Edinburgh. The books were a hit and I'll be sure to recommend this shop to our friends who travel to Edinburgh.

They had a great selection of books and some great displays. The staff were helpful and knew their stuff!

The Customer Service is second to none. I rang on the off chance they might be able to get a book for me that was out of stock practically everywhere. The guy (Michael) not only sourced the book for me from another store, but he arranged for it to be delivered to my home too. Cheers! All credit to the staff at this shop

Excellent bookshop and smashing wee cafe. The best carrot cake I think I've ever had. Free WiFi too. After you've bought whatever book takes your fancy, a great place to relax.

Best bookshop in Edinburgh. I was at a book signing the lady who looked after everyone was approachable and efficient. I very much doubt if you want to buy a book they wouldn't have it. Love the interior all the small rooms of the main floors. It's not clinically sorted like other stores. I could spend hours in Blackwells. I used it more in the past as a student. Worth a visit anytime.
