About Bobath Scotland

Cerebral Palsy Scotland helps children and adults with cerebral palsy living in Scotland. .

Bobath Scotland Description

Cerebral Palsy Scotland is a charity devoted to improving the quality of life for people with cerebral palsy. We achieve this primarily through provision of specialist therapy for children, supporting both the child and their families in a relaxed, non-clinical and fun environment. Our family-orientated, holistic therapy enhances a child’s play, mobility, communication skills and overall quality of life, and everyone involved in the care and development of a child is invited to therapy sessions. We're also delighted to have started a parent support group in January 2012 and an adult therapy pilot project in April 2012.

Bobath Scotland's Life Skills group this summer was all about supporting girls age 11-14 with cerebral palsy to become more independent and confident.
If you’re the only person in your school with cerebral palsy, it really matters to have a place where you can meet others your age with a disability. The Life Skills group also gives girls the chance to meet and get advice from adults with cerebral palsy, and work on skills like taking a bus journey, ordering at a café, dressing more independently, or just putting your hair up in a bobble by yourself.
Bobath Scotland needs to raise £8.50 of every £10 spent to provide the practical services and support we deliver throughout the year. By supporting Bobath Scotland this Christmas you can help us to provide lifelong support for people living with cerebral palsy. Thank you!

“I think it’s being around other parents who understand what it’s like to bring up a child with extra needs. A lot of people don’t get it. Here, everybody understands and it’s a great atmosphere to be in. The other groups we go to, people kind of take pity on you. But here, everybody’s so friendly and so happy and it’s just a fantastic place to be I think”.
Watch our video to find out more about Bobath Scotland’s fortnightly baby group and why it matters to the parents and children that come.
We need to raise £8.50 of every £10 spent to provide practical services like the baby group. By supporting Bobath Scotland this Christmas you can help us to provide lifelong support for people living with cerebral palsy. Read more about our Christmas appeal and donate here: https://bit.ly/2zWeslo

By supporting Bobath Scotland this Christmas you can help us to provide lifelong support for people living with cerebral palsy. Bobath's superb team of specialised therapists work throughout the year with children and adults, delivering therapy sessions tailored to each person and what they want to achieve.
Sessions could focus on developing strategies to eat or dress more independently, improve communication, or work on the fine motor skills to hand over change in a shop. The results can be transformational, leading to improved independence and emotional well-being. Read more about our Christmas appeal and donate here: https://bit.ly/2zWeslo
