Sunday also turned out to be a very busy day for the #sundaysquad. Final cylinder liner and the three missing pistons all fitted to 25235. The last radiator element, cooler group roof and cooler group housing were all removed ready for the settling tanks to come out.
The 08 liners were cleaned up ready for refitting and the engine block internals given a second coat of paint.

37703 just after initial startup today, before it headed to manuel, it hasnt been started for a while but settled down quite quickly.

37703 does a test pass of the greasers near high bridge to ensure correct operation after some adjustments today.

Saturday the diesel group worked on the greasers, which are fitted on the railway from bo'ness to manuel. Some adjustments, servicing and replenishment of grease was carried out.

Liners 4&5 installed back into 25235 power unit one evening this week. Also the cooler group elements have been removed to allow access and overhaul.

Measuring everything on 08443 today, the team today have removed every piston and gudgeon pin for assessment. Everything so far is acceptable to the specification. Now time to check the big ends.

Model show bus details

Work continues this weekend on the 08 power unit. Today the pistons had the rings removed, cleaned up to remove the carbon and burnt oil. To ensure they stay clean they have been protected and sprayed with a light oil.

The work on sunday continued with the - 25235 Power unit- Broken head stud drilled out and retapped 7/8” bsp, the drill was dead centre so the original thread was repaired with no damage at all!
08443 engine cylinder block was cleaned out internally at 4 of the 6 positions, carbon was cleaned off the top of the pistons as well.

6 green liners sitting on the floor. If 1 green liner should accidentally fall, there will be 5 green liners sitting on the floor.
