Some exciting news for everyone! https://www.facebook.com/bookbus is coming to Edinburgh and will park in the LIfesCycle (Business Centre) car park on Saturday 30 November as part of its UK tour. Some of you may remember that Andy took some time out to volunteer with them in Zambia in 2011 ...and since then we have been helping the Local Cowboy Cliff Cycle T...ours & Bike Hire and supporting the local pre school and Patrick. We are looking to assist the organisers in making this as successful a day as possible - some ideas from their agenda include a Book Bus display, publicity about the role of the charity and how it contributes to children's education in Africa, Asia and South America. Book swap - children (and adults!) can bring a book to swap with books on the Book Bus, Book Donation and a Book Bus presentation in our studio...
In addition to their efforts, we (Lifescycle) intend to organise a ride as a fundraiser on the day and hope that they will be able to take some of the donations of children's clothes, cycling gear and other stuff with them that we collected for the local pre school. We will be chatting to David who is leading this up at the weekend, so if anyone can think of ways to help publicise this, it would be fantastic....we're hoping some of you may have contacts in the press, local radio etc. which would really help get them on the map and get all your efforts out there too!
